I'm so sure of it ... he's going to have a voluntary defense against Judah ... Judah is out there waiting to get a shot at a title and just because of his name, he'll more likely get one.

He would be a tough test for Berto (first 5-6 rounds) and he will try to catch Berto with something lethal (maybe the left hand uppercut/hook punch) and if Berto can get through that shot then he'll be in good standing to win the fight.

I can't see him just fighting mandatories ... or not taking any voluntary defenses ... he's not ready to unify the titles no matter what he says.

I can also see the WBC mandating him to fight Collazo again --

Great call and I could definitely see it if Zab would take the fight. And after last night, why wouldn't Zab think he could win?

Exactly and he's worth the risk ... and still has a good name ... I believe DbE1 would make it happen.

    Isn't Judah staying at 140?

Even if he isn't, enough title shots for Judah he has done nothing to earn a title shot now.

    Supposedly, yes he is.

I agree, I'm not saying that Zab deserves a shot but I could see Berto seeking a 'name' win to try to get a little luster back against a guy who can be stopped in Zab.

Not saying it will happen but could definitely see it happening. Berto isn't ready to unify, as fitzgeraldz says, so who can he fight to keep some 'heat' but that might not be too big a threat? Zab would probably fit that bill.

Yeah from a mandatory position ... but he can be anyones voluntary defense ... you get only a certain amount of time to fufill your mandatory shot.

Just like Klitschko possibly fighting Haye ... Haye isn't his #1 challenger ...

I think this is a fight that Zab will fancy.

Berto isn't really a style nightmare that someone like Clottey was - nor is he iron chinned. If Judah can get the left hand firing and use the uppercuts.....

Could be game over for HBO *cough* Berto.

    zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

What has Judah done to deserve yet another title shot?

Judah has no Chin, no heart, no stamina, and is mentally fragile.

Exactly, which is why Team Berto would want to fight him. Zab still has 'name' but he can definitely be beaten, especially by a guy who came into the ring at 160 lbs last night.

In this sense, it could be a perfect fight for Team Berto. Name opponent, possibly little risk and you avoid all real threats in the division.

You don't have to do anything to deserve a title shot ... if Berto wants to defend his title against anyone he can as long as the WBC sanctions the fight. I'm sure that Judah will clear sanctions ... he doesn't have to be ranked by the WBC ... he still has a good name.

He didn't deserve a shot against Cotto (after losing to Mayweather)

Hasim Rahman didn't deserve a title shot against Wlad ...

Evander Holyfield didn't deserve a shot against Valuev ...

thats how it goes in boxing ... if you hold one single belt then you have a chance to fight whoever you want outside of your mandatory as long as when the time comes you fight your mandatory. Zab Judah is still top 10 ranked by all sanctioning bodies.
