Is this basically that I'm either Earnie Shavers with a completely glass jaw vs. I'm George Chuvalo but utterly feather fisted? If it's gain one lose the other entirely, I'd rather have the big punch. If I can still have an okay version of the other, I'm going chin with okay punch.

Great punch cause you can still win most fights in the street or a baroom brawl.. Fights end so quick, it wouldnt be so great to have an awesome chin if you cant kick their ass. WIth a good punch and mediocre chin you can end things quickly and not have to take punishment.

    Chin.

Whats the point in being able to deliver a big punch if you cant take one ?

I would take the IRON CHIN. See Hasim Rahman for reference on why incredible punch dont always work with a glass jaw

Yeah, because if he had an iron chin but no punch he would've been world champion. :nut

    Chin.

Even "tomato can" fighters lands haymakers . . . so what's the future of a fighter with incredible punch if he can't get passed tomato can fighters?

Paullie Malignaggi is an example of a fighter with a good chin but no power. AT least he reached the rank of a contender and was able to fight for titles.

If it was one big splash you were looking for, then punch is of course the only way to go.

Over a longer career though, assuming you have the ability to learn and absorb experience, I'd take chin. You can do a lot with smarts, experience, and a good chin.

Anyone who picks an Incredible Punch is a glass jawed fraud.
