Is homophobia associated with homosexual arousal? ]The authors investigated the role of homosexual arousal in exclusively heterosexual men who admitted negative affect toward homosexual individuals. Participants consisted of a group of homophobic men (n = 35) and a group of nonhomophobic men (n = 29); they were assigned to groups on the basis of their scores on the Index of Homophobia (W. W. Hudson & W. A. Ricketts, 1980). The men were exposed to sexually explicit erotic stimuli consisting of heterosexual, male homosexual, and lesbian videotapes, and changes in penile circumference were monitored. They also completed an Aggression Questionnaire (A. H. Buss & M. Perry, 1992). Both groups exhibited increases in penile circumference to the heterosexual and female homosexual videos. Only the homophobic men showed an increase in penile erection to male homosexual stimuli. The groups did not differ in aggression. Homophobia is apparently associated with homosexual arousal that the homophobic individual is either unaware of or denies] http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/...d.php?t=251495 http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/...d.php?t=233612 http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/...d.php?t=218962
Theres a thread about this over at Sherdog. As apparently Dana White is seriously considering it. www.sherdog.com/forums/you****ingmuppet
Fighters should only be allowed to grease their face. Anything else should see point deductions, DQ and a ban.
are you kidding me? Instead of greasing yourself to equalize the wrestling advantages, you should learn how to counter it. that's horse**** to grease up.
Not so much. But greasing is frowned upon by the majority of the MMA community, isn't it? Instead of making yourself overly slick with vaseline, you should work on shoring up your abilities.
Listen guys. MMA is not the ancient sport of your people, it is commercial fighting for entertainment that has only been around a few years, in the form we know today. A promoter who was a guest on Inside MMA, was talking about the problem of wrestlers winning fights in a boring fashion, and he having difficulty selling event with those fighters. I've not disrespected anyone's wonderful, nuanced expert appreciation of the ground game. but in this promoter's words, "people want to see a highlight real of knockouts". The point is, it is totally reasonable and legitimate for me to raise this topic. I say this to all of the Norbert the train spotter ******s who seem to worship the rules as if they were written on the stone tablets of Moses. MMA only exists because people will pay to watch it. if people stop paying to watch it it will disappear without trace. Input that data into your genius brains. Thank you.
Yeah it is reasonable to raise the debate. But the majority of posters in this thread disagree with you. Democracy in action? We still pay to watch it, if you don't like it don't watch it. Simple logic there isnt it Einstein? Take for example fighters like John Fitch. Some may consider him boring. But too me the beauty of his style is his opponents know EXACTLY how he is gonna fight, and it's their job to counter it. And everyone except GSP have failed miserably. I personally find that battle of styles fascinating. I wont say it's the most exciting in the world, but it's kinda like a chess match Input that data in your tiny brain. Or better still watch the Cambodian Midget Fighting League instead
no but i would be happy to see them fight in the traditional gi again.. i liked that part of the early days..
