Decent career. Good fighter but his long title reign wasn't that amazing when you look at his record. Wouldn't have beat Haye though.

Like him as a presenter. Not too serious, likes a laugh and seems to know a good fighter. He's very much a basic presenter. Explains everything in the simplest way possible, probably for those who are watching but aren't hardcore fans.

Seems a really nice bloke away from the cameras.

    Never saw him fight.

He was alright when he was like a reserve commentator doing bits of undercard, making odd comments etc.

Now he's basically the co-presenting leader of the team he's brutal.

I really wish they'd bullet practically all of them and have Ed Robinson as the lead. He's the only one with the journalistic/presenting ability together with a real knowledge of the action.

That's if Paul Dempsey isn't available.

Have Barry McGuigan on there, together with Jamie Moore doing the gym features, and guys like Macklin, Barker and Froch on rotation as the ''2nd pundit'' together with Jim Watt.

Decent fighter at world level, nothing more than that. A tricky opponent.

As a pundit I don't rate him at all. I think he just waffles.

Pretty much got the best out of himself, he was a little above average fighter who knew his limitations and did well to win a strap and even better to make what, 13 or 14 defenses of that belt (Has to be said though that belt was the WBO and not really meaningful in those days).

Credit must be given to him for his persistance. He lost his first 3 fights, jumped to heavyweight which was a bad decision and then he went back down. He drew with Carlos De Leon in a sleep inducing, absolute stinker. But after that showed decent development.

He has a decent resume too, in a division which is for the most part a halfway house and pretty shite historically. But Thompson, De Leon, Dominguez, Guillermo Jones are good names.

The less said about his style the better really. He was awkward, ugly, anti-boxing in the typical Ingle mould, but effective. He basically fought scared.

As for his presenting and punditry? He's one of the worst i've EVER seen.

Presenting wise I think he does better at the off the cuff bits like when hes in the gyms and such, in the studio hes a ****ing embarrassment of Kelly Brook proportions

I don't think it's Nelson fault that he is so bad in the studio, It's down to peer pressure from Smith, imagine how would you feel having to work side by side with your Mrs?

    It's easier said than done.

I dont know whats gayer about Adam Smith, his mincing pose on the stool, his hair, or his longing BBC craving homo gazes at Johnny Nelson

A decent record but no one ever mentions Nelson in almost any positive boxing discussion. Only Nelson Thompson gets a look in it seems. That says alot about what people think of him as a boxer.

As a pundit, he is rather dire. His scripted banter with Smith is cringey to say the least. Despite all his boxing experience he seems to say absolutely nothing insightful. He seems up for the practical show and tells but often ruins them with some lame joke rather than giving the fans a great opportunity to look into the technical side of the game.
