Whatas your opinion on Brandon Rios calling out Barrera?

  1. Personally i think its a joke, MAB cant hang at light-weight we saw that from the Khan fight, on top of that he is beyond past prime. i trhink he should be calling out guys like vasquez, katsidis etc.

He should be calling out JCC Sr or Ruben Olivares

On the other hand barrera deserves a final shot in my opinion, I think he is retiring later this year so why not give hima final shot thats what he deserves and wants.

Don't agree w/the choice but that seems to be the M.O.

Get some past-prime legends on your resume on your way up. Everyone has done it.

well.... I don't really want to see MAB fight again, especially at the higher levels. HOWEVER - if he really feels like he has to do it, he could do worse than to go out against Rios. And I'm pretty sure he would be going out, I haven't seen anything in his last few fights that makes me think he can pull off a Morales style comeback, especially above 130.

Rios named his son after MAB, that's how much respect he has for the man. I just have this idea that if MAB's going to pass the torch, it would be good to do it against someone who appreciates his history instead of some donkey like Khan who thinks because he beat an old, bloated MAB he's automatically on his level career-wise.

I don't think so. Rios got too much power for Katsidis IMO. Katsidis vs Antillon would be a competitive war that would last longer.

He's looking for a platform to gain exposure and a big payday. Barrera represents such an opportunity that not many others at 135 can.

It would have been before JMM ruined Kats, but not so much now. He looked horrible against Guerrero, and it wasn't all Guerrero's doing either. I think Mike is near the end.

what about this? once they take bradleys belt for being inactive let the wbc make mab vs morales 4 for the fourth mexican title only with the catch that they both must retire straight after and will not come back.

    Rios is a chicken.

Rios has ducked many though fighters and only wanst to fight slow, over-the-hill B level boxers.

    Rios has ducked Victor Ortiz
Rios also ducked Juan Diaz many times.
Rios ducked Undeafeted Euro champ-John Murray
    Rios ducks Miguel Vazquez.

Rios just wants slow moving has-been punchers like MAB, Antillon, etc.
