Whatever happened to Don King?

He's almost 90 years old by now. That could have something to do with it.

 

I hear he's sold off most of his offices and only promotes a couple fighters now due to age.

 

I saw him standing behind matirosyan(he promotes him) after the GGG fight grinning like an idiot wearing a bedazzled Canadian tuxedo and covered in bling bling

 

I believe the last big name fighter he had wad Trinidad.

 

This. His age and the death of his wife had a huge impact on him slowing down his business.

 

He's one of the best promoters to ever do it... and the longest. one of the smartest and most business-savy... plus you gotta admit he looks very good for 86... most people at that age can barely walk and are in old folks homes.. stuttering words

 

Don king has been sued by nearly every single big named boxer he's worked with including Ali, Holmes, and Tyson for underpaying them. I don't know why anyone would work with that scumbag. He truly should be banned from boxing. Whenever he shows up to events these days he just looks like an empty dementia ridden robot. Just smileeee and waaaave. He was at the latest GGG fight weigh in. No idea what he's even doing at these fights. He probably provides for the ring side chairs. Literally the actual chairs. Rents them out and that allows him to hang around.

 

Don King is Vanes promoter, back in the day you sign with King immediate title shot against Tyson.

 

Don King has not been the same since the death of his wife Henrietta. Don King really liked her, that is the only time I ever felt sorry for Don King......................after that he has gone way down hill....................not just age either......................

 

He's now secretly mentoring DLH on how to be a dishonest, duplicitous, exploitative promoter. Seems to be doing a good job.

 

Oscar cannot be as successful as King. King was a genius in many ways. Arum? He was good. not the genius King was, but he worked hard and had the four kings in the 1980s, which helped Arum get recognition.

 

So is Bob Arum.

 

Hes living his life. Doing what he wants. Rocking afros and waving flags laughing at us poor people making post about him that he'll never care enough to see.
