For lighting up boxing for me and I'm sure, many others.

I only ever wanted him to lose to Barrera and even though I'm a Floyd fan, that fight doesn't register on my own personal boxrec.

It's been a joy watching this guy,and we should appreciate him while he's still around, because boxing will be a poorer sport when he hangs up his Cletos.

He's a sharpshooting boxing maestro and I'm glad I've been able to enjoy his career since becoming a fan.

    Mucho respeto a mi amigo.

(No offence to any Spanish speaking posters reading this.)

The last of the old guard, after tonight (win or lose) I think he'll retire closing the chapter on the tres amigos. I just hope it ends in glory.

x2, in the past I was not a fan of runners but he runs better then most. Plus his Gh and roid abuse is epic.

yeah, juan manuel marquez, a real credit to the sport.
would'nt it be great if he could finally get a decision, or even better, a stoppage over pacquiao tonight, at the 4th time of asking.
then, hang up his gloves, and go out with the one result he's wanted for so long.

I've never expressed an iota of disparagement towards Manny, and I don't dislike him at all.
I just find some of his fans on here to be totally devoid of any reason or ability to debate objectively.

You get that with practically every fighter. Pacquiao's just extremely popular so there's a larger group for him.

Anyway, I love JMM. He and Pac are gods and I'll hate to see them go. They represent everything that's great about boxing. Hopefully we get another brilliant, action-packed fight tonight.

It saddens me to hear people saying they're bored of this match up.
The thrill hasn't gone for me.Not often are we practically guaranteed quality of the highest order.
Not saying I want best of seven but tonight still ensures that I'll stay up and not watch the repeat tomorrow, even though my three year old will be up and causing me great discomfort in just over three hours!

    Aye.

Two icons continuing (probably ending) an iconic rivalry. If you're not interested in that than you don't get to call yourself a boxing fan. :bart

I'm lost for superlatives about the man.
Juanma has officially completed my personal holy trinity with Ray and Barrera.

Juanma,I want to thank you for the most thrilling fight since Margarito-Cotto 1.

I'll give this a bump because I've just woke upandremembered Isawone of the great fights of this era last night.
Thanks again Juanma. And a big chunk of my gratitude goes to Manny Pacquaio too.
