What's the bigger mismatch: Alexander Povetkin vs Anthony (in favor of Joshua) Joshua or Alexander Povetkin vs David Price (in favor of Povetkin)?

I'd for Povetkin vs Joshua as the bigger mismatch!

Totally. Joshua v Povetkin is not a mismatch it is a real dangerous tough fight for Joshua as much as it is for Povetkin. The Russian looks like he must really in the twilight of his career but he doesnt look done just yet. Outside of Russia and battered by drugs tests and at his age who knows how much he has left but i can only go off his most recent fights and he doesnt quite look done yet and is a very good technically skilfull fighter.

If Price has got his head together, his fitness together and has his mojo back and does a number on Povetkin i will be super happy for him but i can only go off what i saw in his most recent fights and the lay offs too and thats a real easy 2 round 1 sided brutal smashing by the Russian. Unless Price does something amazing this is a mismatch, the oher isnt.

Why this question? Did some weirdo claim that those fights were even remotely comparible, and if so is this person sane enough to be taken seriously at all?!

I don't agree that Joshua vs Povetkin is a mismatch, of course Joshua will be favorite in this fight, but Povetkin will also be a dangerous for AJ.

Both are terrible matchups since Povetkin smashes them both.

Exclusive: Who's the best, biggest puncher from Klitschko, Joshua, Fury's, Chisora and Price? - Sparring partner Machaj reveals all

Tyson Fury looks set to come back later this year if his hearing with UKAD is successful, whilst Hughie Fury is on the fringes of world title glory.

One man who has had the opportunity to spar with such titans is Lancastrian Adam Machaj. He reveals the fighters stood out from the pack.

“The toughest one I fought in terms of ability was Tyson, he’d beat most of the names out of shape now, getting off the settee. He’s too skilful,” the 29-year-old exclusively told World Boxing News.

“He runs you around and makes you angry. In terms of a physical athlete it has to be Klitschko and Joshua, they’re the biggest athletes.

“David Price was probably the biggest puncher as every punch he landed hurt, whilst Chisora was good as he was like a little Tasmanian devil, they’re all good in their own rights.”

With talk of Joshua and Fury heating up for a summer showdown in 2018, Michaj has predicted the outcome.

“I don’t think Fury would stop him but I think he’d outpoint him. His foot movement, skills, deceptive, he switches his arms, his style changes every two seconds.

“The only way to beat him is to knock him to the deck, even Tyson said that but apart from that you’re going to struggle.”

The ‘Heat Seeker’ has risen in confidence since sharing the ring with the heavy hitters and has vowed to deliver performances no one has witnessed him do before.

“I’ve sparred all of them, I was in the Klitschko camp for three weeks. I’ve sparred Tyson and Hughie a lot of times, David Price I’ve done a lot of rounds with, I’ve trained with them all.

“My confidence is good I don’t get nervous and have held my own with them all, it’s just landing that punch, nobody has seen what I can do yet. Once I land square, they won’t get up off the floor,” he added.'

    That's what I'm talking about

Right! So a 7 foot giant facing a 6 foot 2 midget, is less of a mismatch than the 6 foot 2 midget, facing another 6 foot 6 giant?

What? Who's the sudden 7 foot person here in this? Where did he come from all of a sudden?

You startted this about Price vs Povetkin > huge mismatch in favor of Povetkin, and Joshua vs Povetkin which not a mismatch, but probably would be Joshua's second best opponent to date and maybe even after tomorrow.
Since when is 6' 2" a midget by the way?

David Price, for all intents and purposes, is 7 foot tall. He is taller than Tyson Fury, who is listed at 6 foot 9. So relatively speaking, Povetkin is a midget compared to David Price.

But we are to believe that David Price faces a bigger mismatch against the midget Povetkin, when he has a significant size advantage against this midget, but Povetkin facing the much bigger Joshua and younger Joshua isn't a mismatch? Why is that?

Price is 6' 8" which means if you put him at 7 foot then that's comparable to calling Povetkin 6' 6"
And are we actually talking about size here when Price needed some luck, a partial referee and it being a 6 rounder to get past a 6' 1" very low level journeyman, and got knocked over by Povetkin's latest victim who is 6' 2" himself?!

Because Price has a long history of gassing and of having a glass jaw. Which good fighter has he really beaten?

Besides, we can compare their relative opposition to guage how they stand.

Price got knocked out by Hammer, who Povetkin beat from pillar to post. He got knocked out against Teper, who himself was beaten by Wach ... who Povetkin beat from pillar to post. In fact Wach is probably bigger than Price and Povetkin stopped him. He lost twice to Tony Thompson, who himself lost to Takam ... who Povetkin brutally knocked out.

On the other hand AJ had a decent test against Takam, and while he was never in danger of losing ... the bout was fairly competitive. Therefore, I'd say Povetkin is in with a shot vs AJ but Price needs a miracle vs Povetkin.
