So what do we think Eddie isn't telling us?

    What options does he want?

And whats Quigg getting paid? The champ with the belt having to travel shouldn't be getting the same as the challenger?

That was so unbelievably slimy there must be some behind the scenes stuff we don't know

Shows Hearn and Matchroom have a solid offer and financial backing of Sky as the fight is a stick on ppv box office fight , If Framptons team dont take the offer they could regret it for the rest of his career as it will be a career high purse he wont earn again not even fighting in america against the best of the rest

If it is such a sh itty offer to Carl, then offer Quigg more-it's simple.Fact is,McGuigan can't compete with Matchroom/Sky TV.

From framptons point of view it shouldn't matter what is behind the cheque...

There's a massive pay day on the line , he will bring over enough fans to make it almost even I'd say in terms of crowd split (quigg doesn't do massive numbers - crolla will add the local support) but the Irish will be just as vocal.

Yes he's the champion , but so was Martinez when he travelled & I'll bet it was a lot less than £1.5m!

Get it booked & thrash it out to see whose number one, then look at going on - there's not this money in a LSC & Rigo fight combined IMO

He's just showing that they want the fight and its all on team Framtpon, they just want to put public pressure on them, in my opinion a bad move and I can see McGuigan being quite stubborn on the matter.

Eddie flexing his muscles and showing that he has a venue, a fat cheque, and that all the talk of Quigg avoiding Frampton is bullsiht.

He's basically calling Barry and team Framptons bluff, and tbh i dont think they have the money or the contacts to compete.

Wee Barry said that Frampton is the better fighter, with the bigger fanbase, and the more marketable of the two, so i don't see what they have to lose if he's so confident.

He will want TV options on the winner you'd expect which would be a big sticking point.

unless they try and make it a stadium fight in northern Ireland (is there a stadium that big over there?) then its hard to see how Frampton will get a better offer in terms of finance.

he'll probably have enough support at the MEN anyway to make it sort of neutral.

they should appoint neutral ref's and judges as in froch groves 2 to hopefully stop any potential home cooking, but I think the best man will win the fight, and if there is any controversy they can always have a rematch and other fat cheque.

if barrys only problem is he's not the lead or co promoter then that will reflect badly on him and Frampton. A good proportion of the public couldn't give 2 ****s about who's promoted by who they just want to see the fight

Barry's cornered now. If Hearn and quigg would have agreed to itv in Belfast carl would never have got 1.5 mill. Barry only wanted 75/25 split so him and his sons could pocket 25 percent and still leave their fighter with 50 percent. Then Barry would have made more on the co promotion. It's good its public as now carl will actually see the real figures, he might even get 100k out of this one once barry and co have taken their cut

I think 1.5 mil for a fight you know you're going to win is a good offer. I am a Frampton fan, I just hope the fight happens. McGuigan and Hearn I think are two hard men to work with.

Frampton can fill the Odyssey no matter who he fights, but don't quote me i think it only holds about 7000 - 8000 ?

I suppose they could try Windsor Park which would hold 30,000 for a boxing match, but the weather isn't exactly reliable in that part of the country, and i'm not convinced the fight would sell 30.000.

The problem imo is Barry, i think Carl wants to remain loyal, and although i'm sure he'd jump at a Quigg fight, i think his promotion/management are trying to take control of any potential fight with Quigg.

Unless there are any silly or unfair requests linked to Hearns offer, i think Carl should try and force Barry's hand. 1.5 mill is serious money for a domestic clash at that weight.

Edited to add, Barry isn't immune to silly decisions, we all remember the Cruz in the desert fiasco.

McGuigan might be stubborn on this but it's a great offer. Only across the waters for 1.5 and to be favourite? I think he'll(McG) take it. What's the alternative?? Won't fight Rig and LSC fight won't offer as much. A fight I'm looking forward to.
