Interesting take indeed. Canelo is a smart guy. He did seem to fight Trout in a reserved fashion but to the untrained or even to a "haters eye" it looked as if Canelo gassed.

If you watch the fight again Canelo plays possum, looking gassed baiting Trout in just for Trout to land on Canelo's uppercuts or simply just miss him.

He played allot of possum he kept Trout guessing, Trout wasnt prepared for that type of fight he expected to be pressured all night, Canelo kept switching gears on him one min he is cutting the ring off landing clean shots the next he is moving away making Trout miss only to crack him clean again.

I believe this is what lead to the knock down Trout wasnt sure where Canelo was going to be in that moment. Canelo is a smart fighter, he wont get the credit for it now but once he is finished with this fight well lets just say this rather than Credit, *****s will dig deep to find a conspiracy here somewhere

He ain't got no chance, he is there because his looks not his accomplishments or talent it will be a whooping and toying for the duration of the contest...

Yes he can and he will, honestly, how many more big fights does Floyd have in him? And if the last numbers for his Guerrero bout are any indication his buzz is starting to fizzle out.

Canelo has alot of bouts in front of him and will bring in Money and people to Vegas

I honestly believe Canelo takes it, even via Robbery

So in your mind ginger won the fight going away... Canelo is an ordinary fighter that's all, and is going to take a pass his prime Floyd to show you the thruth...

The jab is good when in the middle of the ring but when Floyd is on the ropes I don't think body punching is the best move because it's hard to get too cause of his stance but punching when floyd is punching i believe is the key cause when your not punching that when floyd picks you apart with his accuracy so i believe punching when he is

i dont know if he'll be able to actually do it, but that's his best chance. canelo's a very good boxer, but foyd's much better. i just can't see canelo outboxing floyd and there's no way mayweather will stand in front of canelo. canelo has to back him up against the ropes and really work the body. if canelo hasnt hurt floyd before the start of the fifth round, it's over for him. his stamina is appalling. canelo has a puncher's chance. that's pretty much it. floyd's really gonna be sticking and moving in this one.

sure, but not in this case. i think he really has to hurt floyd. he has to physcially hurt floyd. pressure alone wont do it. mayweather is great at staying in the center of the ring or getting back to it.

Subtle pressure with a pinch of luck.

You can’t impersonate Henry Armstrong unless you’ve got the engine to back it up. Alvarez isn’t the guy to bulldoze till the final bell, but he offers something else with patience and creative combinations.

The straight right that decked Trout is exactly the same type of punch he’ll need to buzz Floyd; all’s calm, ring centre, and then BAM! If Saul can buckle those knees early we may have a real fight on our hands because his boxing doesn’t suffer when the opponent teeters.

He’s liable to eat sneaky pot-shots (everyone one is with Mayweather) but he keeps his chin down, hands up, and he isn’t afraid to punch with his opponent. Furthermore, I can’t see the Mexican feeling sorry for himself during rough spots, and there’ll be no late round cruising.

It’s all uphill, and that may play to his advantage.

Some like myself don’t necessarily want to see Floyd lose, but we need to see him sweat under pressure, to just lose it for a moment or two, to start complaining about the air-con as his antagonist pursues with absolute belief.

I doubt we’ll get quite that with Alvarez, but he should bring out the very best in our P4P king.

And that is something worth paying for.
