What's canelo's "style"? Also how he became popular?

I do. Both he and Cotto are guys who have some nice strengths, very noticeable holes in their games, and can do a bit of everything, but don't stand out as great at any one thing. As far as potential goes, I could see Alvarez becoming a unified champion at 154 and being a good operator at 160 (picking up a title or two in the latter division, whilst never becoming the champion).

How do you think a fight between he and Cotto would go down next May if Cotto gets past Trout? I think Cotto is more rounded as of now and is much fleeter of foot, but I kind of get the feeling Alvarez's physical strength and explosive combination punching would wear Cotto down and put him on the canvas late. Currently, the only guy who has campaigned recently at 154 that I'd feel very confident putting money on over Alvarez is Mayweather.

 

Competitive enough to warrant a rematch. Maybe even a huge Rico-Mexico rivalry as it sparks a trilogy. That's what I think.

It'll be easy for Cotto(e) if he can keep it at the end of his jab and maintain his newly founded fleet footed turning style like he did against margo(e).

Saul Alvarez is a hooker who can be hooked with. He tends to retract his right hand as he's hooking since he sits down so much on the shot to generate power. It almost looks like he's pulling an arrow back using his rear hand to fire a bow.

If you can time 3-5 good hooks on someone like Floyd Mayweather, you probably can on Alvarez who isn't all that hard to hit in the first place.
