I remember his critics being very high on one of his opponents, even going as far as to say that Bud would duck him and if he didn't, he'd easily get beaten. The same opponent got thrown under the bus so fast later on that It's even hard to remember his name these days.

I meant the mini(and poor men's) Wlad Klitschko. He was the one who created the most excitement in my time here.

Of forty people in kirk's championship picking league, it was 25-15 in favor of Crawford. In other words, 38% went for Postol, and that's among knowledgeable posters competing in a picks league.

Ditto many people in the official poll thread:

So what he's short, tho? 90% of boxing fans incl. Max Kellerman were saying early in his career (but not that early, talking up right until he was 22-0) that Gamboa was going to inherit the p4p mantle from Mayweather & Pacquiao once they retired. Granted, they/we got that one dead wrong (just as we kind of got it wrong about Chocolatito, although that one is debatable, there was a case for him to have been #1 briefly, although in fairness many of us were saying he would reign there for a long time, which clearly didn't come to fruition). Sure, he ascended from 126lbs to 135lbs in a hurry (only making a brief two-fight pit-stop at super feather before jumping to lightweight, bagging a belt off unbeaten Darleys Pérez, and then jumping in with Crawford) but he was always considered a large featherweight and besides, talent as special as his was perceived to be (and in truth probably wasn't far off) is supposed to allow for carrying one's ability up in weight a little beyond your comfort zone. That win is criminally underrated. Crawford took a guy that for years was the "new RJJ" and just manhandled him, yet doesn't get any credit for it. Last I checked Tarver got plenty of credit for beating the original RJJ despite clearly not being as naturally athletically talented, with size playing a factor. Not sure why the double standard.

That’s surprising. I wouldn’t have thought even 10 people in this whole forum actually thought Postol would Win that one. I was one of the those who thought he had a SHOT but wasn’t saying he’d “DESTROY” or even beat Crawford like certain dopes on here like to say.

Well those "dopes" are just reporting the facts of what actually happened. It wasn't exactly a down the middle schism in the boxing community, but it was in the neighborhood of 60-40 Crawford.
