You're not following my point at all. How does he just fight a top ten opponent? You need TV money to put fights together between decent fighters. It is all well and good to say go to the US and fight, but if an exciting fighter like Paul Briggs struggled to get bouts, how is someone like Daniel who let's face it, isn't the most exciting fighter getting around, going to get a TV date? I hardly think that HBO will be begging for his services at this point in time.

Dan needed a safe keep busy fight in April...a fighter that would give him rounds but wont beat him.....a fighter like Medley would be good :D not that they would fight being from grange....but you get my drift :yep

I'm not sure what he's looking for, but I hope it's more than what Mandy's looking for.

Are you saying that every fight, a top ten american fighter has, is on tv?

All i want him to do is get fights, if he thinks fighting twice a year is good for him id be very surprised.

Billy dib gets fights all the time, i cant see why dan cant.

Geez I'd like to see some of the so-called experts on ESB Aussie forum go into fighter management!

So you'd like Geale to do what Marcus? Go from fighting on PPV against Mundine and the co-feature on another and earning great pay day's to back to fighting on FoxShows for $5k - $10k against opponents who'll want too much money to come over and fight a high rated fighter such as Daniel which overall makes the show lose money?

Believe me, balancing a budget for the show to make it work and paying fighters appropriately is the finest of lines. What would you like, the Promoter to lose money consistently and then not continue to bother which is to the overall detriment of the industry?

I'm not being critical mate, it's just a hell of a lot of factors behind the scenes that make up either a show, or the management of a fighter.

Is dan really a PPV fighter in the first place? I dont think so. Sure he got one vs manny, then one down in tassie but i dont think he is quite at the level where he should only fight on PPV events.

So yes, id like to see him fight on fox shows yes.

You seam to have the attitude that its all about money.

Maybe im dreaming here but didnt older fighters want to fight for the love of fighting. And chasing a title shot and not just a pay day.

I'm certainly respecting your comments Marcus, however this is Daniel's living, or any boxer we are talking about so rightly or wrongly, dollars and cents are a big part of the equation.

Daniel or any boxer have to be positioned correctly to go forward in boxing, whilst earning a living, and in Daniel's case, to help support and raise is family.

Daniel in my opinion isn't a fully fledged PPV yet, that's certainly not criticism either, however over time I think he could be and Grange I know for a fact have this belief 100% for him and will do everything they can to help him achieve this.

You are right about title shots, but it's about positioning to not only get one, but get one against the right opponent and then have the ability to defend it on-going which is where you make your proper money in boxing, not tick-overs to stay busy and keep the punters happy every week.

We'd all like our top fighters fighting all the time, it's just not possible or realistic unfortunately.

Dib got fights in the US because Mosley liked him and he was with Golden Boy for a little while.

No, not every contender that fights is on TV. But if 2 contenders are facing each other, it usually is. There wouldn't be enough money for it to happen (an unknown Aussie would have 0 pull over there) otherwise.

Things need to be financed, otherwise it makes no business sense.

Or maybe they can fight the winner, likely Manfredo in his hometown for a heap of money if the IBF falls through.

I hope so mate...I thought Geale v Manfredo here would be a great fight and PPV worthy for sure.

Lets hope Geale can still get a gig with the IBO if the IBF road closes....they could be pissed because no fight was made and the IBO gave Geale the first bite.

Geez Sox and Marcus will be pissed off at this news :tired
