    Great points about Clay-Liston I. Of all the heavyweights 60s fights, Clay-Liston I was definitely one of the most dramatic, suspenseful, and most memorable with some good action rounds. I would call it one of the top 10 heavyweight fights of the 60s. Now if I were to make a list of the greatest heavyweight SLUGFESTS of the 60s, then it would never even make honorable mention.

    Clay ( his name then ) knocking out the Big Cat, surely his finest all round performance ( at least up till then ) Williams was a very imposing fighter, give Liston 2 hectic battles, Clay was a picture of perfection, blinding speed, fast, very fast punches, coming in clusters, his footwork never better, gliding in and out of harms way, leaving Williams bewildered, befuddled, and thoroughly demolished, lest not forget the iconic photo from above, Cleveland spreadeagled , Clay arms aloft in victory, really not sure if any of the greats could have taken Clay on that night.
