Porter has a few losses, but he is a tough out for anybody. I just think Crawford wants easy fights and easy money and is just a lot of talk. Wake me up when he fights a top guy

Poor show given he won't be fighting someone as good as Porter next.

Does not look good from Bud who is yet to face a top elite Welterweight.

It's the risk reward thing. As you said, Porter is a tough fight for anybody. A grueling fight but maybe not the most profitable fight.

He can have a grueling fight (if it happens, with Spence or Paq) for more money. If a fight with one of those guys can't be made, then he will have to look at other options.

Mayweather set the trend. Doesnt mean he wasnt a great fighter. Today, picking your spots, maximizing profit and minimizing risk is all the rage. Good for the top fighters, bad for the fans.

I think Porter would put Crawford through more he'll than he did Spence, and has a very good chance to beat Crawford. I think Porter would hacksaw Kavaliauskas with little trouble........

This might sound like crazy talk, but I would bet every cent I ever made on it -- Rashidi Ellis would ve a horrific nightmare for Crawford and beat him. 1 inch taller, slightly shorter reach than Crawford, WAY faster and more explosive than Crawford, throws electric combinations, faster feet than Crawford.

Not at all, the only thing being Ellis, like Ennis doesn't yet have any upper level wins. I think Ennis would smoke Crawford right now too. He is also taller, and faster. They look the goods on the eyeball test, they just need top 10 guys to fight them.

Porter would be a bad style match-up for Crawford? How does the writer figure that?

I like Crawford but this is a weak move. Crawford-Porter would be a great fight in which I think Crawford would win. It's a just a bad look all the way around for him. Who else is he gonna fight? What options does he have?

It sounds like crazy talk to me. Just watched this Ellis guy and I can tell clearly this guy is not a top lvl fighter. Apparently knocked down already and was also hurt in the one fight I saw of him. Fight wouldn’t even be a contest. But who really knows, just my opinion.

I haven't heard this before. Kinda like when Ward and Dirrell didn't want to fight each other because they were friends. Very interesting if true.

PBF didn't duck margo dummy :deal:

Arum said while Mayweather would have taken the $8 million to fight Margarito, he asked for a $10 million guarantee to fight opponents such as Miguel Cotto and Ricky Hatton, when Arum was only willing to guarantee $7 million.

Arum said Mayweather also asked for $20 million to fight De La Hoya, a fight Arum said he wasn't interested in participating in.

"That's not in the cards," Arum said. "He wants $20 million for the De La Hoya fight? It's not there. Sometimes, my man, you gotta know when to hold 'em and when to fold 'em. We'll talk about things down the road."

Porter is the type to genuinely want to fight the best, in contrast to most other fighters. He strikes me as feeling obliged to fight the best. He has got the green light from Al Haymon to make the fight with Crawford, which is unusual.

Porter would be Crawford's best opponent, Porter would be a common opponent with many PBC welterweights, Crawford fighting Porter would make the Spence fight much more likely if Crawford has already fought a top PBC welterweight. Why on Earth would Crawford not fight Porter? (Not that Crawford needs to 'prove' himself or any nonsense like that.) He seems content on his side of the street fighting low-level competition while pretending that he wants to fight the best. He is 32, has been a pro for 12 years, and has a subpar resume - that is no accident to me. This could be another Riddick Bowe situation.

In light of this, Crawford's vociferous attack on Spence strikes me as disingenuous. While Crawford was calling out Spence prior to the car crash, it wasn't nearly as vocal as this. I suspect that Crawford knows Spence's career is in question so now is a safe time to go berserk on him when he might not be in a position to fight.
