What's going on w/ Demetrius Andrade????

His last fight fell through. He should have taken his deal with Roc Nation when he had the chance.

 

Wasted potential just withering away with the years.

Past the point where I really care.

He was mandated to fight Jack Culcay for the WBA belts recently. What I read is that Sauerland, Culcay's promoter, intentionally butchered the terms of the contract to the point where Andrade wouldn't sign. Then Sauerland tried to spin it like Andrade's team was inept and couldn't meet the deadline, hoping Andrade would go away and Culcay would be awarded the belt or given an easier opponent. Andrade's team showed the contract to the WBA which violated their terms, the original fight got cancelled, and they're supposed to reschedule the fight or Culcay will back out. This was all fairly recently.

Things I dislike about boxing: how Andrade, Gamboa, Ortiz, and Rigondeaux can't get fights. Andrade at least has time on his side.

 

Not as far as I know. If I recall correctly he has two promoters, neither of them are Roc Nation. He has a very strange deal that ****s him over it seems.

 

i think he screwed himself over trying to get out of a contract

 

Both him and Saunders can go **** themselves.

 

Great talent sadly just like Lara and all these kind of fighters all get inactive because nobody want to fight them and can't sell ****.

 

Then they ought to take short money and build their brand. Get out there, hustle, and make a name for yourself.

 

they didn't do that, instead after one decent win andrade decided he was a superstar and wanted more money, he still thinks he deserves more money than he is worth and he has ruined he's career

 

Almost wasted talent at this point.

 

he is still young enough to turn it around, but i have to question any fighter who does this mentally.

they mess about for years going no where because they think they aren't getting superstar money when in reality they need to develop further ,fight regularly and build up their fan base

andrades stock was highest just after the vanes fight, that was over 3 years ago, now no one cares about him and he's market value has decreased due to poor decisions
