Ive been following Duddys career since his fight with Campas (which I thought he lost) He got a lot of undeserved hype, but admittingly he has been an exciting fighter to watch. It seems the furor around him as finally died down. Anyone have any inside news on the kid?
Someone I know close to him said that he was called about potentially being on the undercard for Clottey-Pac. That was a few weeks ago though.
As much i hate agreeing with ya, he is not a talented fighter. I have watched him up close in Boston and he is a crowd pleaser. He doesnt seem to not able to find a style between a no-brainer slugger and defensively jabbing and moving his head. I really like the guy and hoped he would prove me wrong. As a boxing fan i have to be honest and i don't see a natural fighting talent. I do think he would beat chavez though :bbb Thats the only fight i want to see him in. WWWAAARRR!!
His career has been on the slide lately, he needs to go for broke. He has been protected too much and needs to fight a name fighter.Chavez jnr would be a good start. If he cant win that then he should hang up the gloves
:good He can beat chavez! I would put my v-cash on it. He would have knock him out though. No way he gets a decision on a top rank promotion.
lets send him to the electric chair i.e. put him in there with a hungry young prospect and see what happens, im tired of this guy floating around as in intangible Duddy vs Chavez Jr is perfect, let these two guys who get way more press and attention than they deserve due to their followings, let them fight and boil down to one guy Duddy will kick his ass badly Then Duddy can cash out vs Pavlik
Dude, wasn't that a ****in' awesome fight? He shoulda never had those kinda problems with an over-the-hill fighter like Campas. I like Duddy for sheer entertainment value only - there's no better way to be entertained on a St Patrick's Day - but he is NOT the real deal.
Duddy has a good jab and a good chin, thats about it. Stovepipe's assessment is the best case scenaro for Duddy - thats the route he should folllow
It was a damn good fight. i dont know if you remember, but Tommy Gallagher was color commentating, and he said I believe around the 8th round something like "This is a really brutal fight for John. I dont know if he is going to be the same after this" This isnt "trash Duddy" thread. I've followed his career, and its just been interesting how he went from being a potential opponent for Pavlik and then Sergio Mora, to now simply being used an Irish draw. A fiight between him and Chavez Jr has been mentioned before. That would be a great fight. Neither of them are that skilled, but they have pleasing styles and it would make for an excellent scrap
