Good fighter but it seems like his career is getting wasted any news on next fight and who he will be fighting ?
Good fighter, that's the problem.. he was never going to be great. He flashed a few signs of being better than that.. but his competition was limited for a reason. Losing to Lee isn't shameful in and of it self.. but it also tells you where you belong in the sport... and that's NOT at the top level.
Mercilessly ducked/avoided by all of 160 and 168, for both fair reasons and foul. He's a risk no one wants to take. Although he's looked less than stellar as a pro, he's got skills and was the best amateur of them all. The only way he's lost is by getting hurt by a massive Lee hook, but most other MWs/SMWs don't hit that hard and don't trust themselves to outpoint him either. The few that are good enough to be favoured are waiting for a Canelo/Golovkin payday.
I remember that he was asking for the Ramirez fight at 168 when allegedly Ramirez was being "avoided"....Ramirez went on to fight Max Bursak. Excellent amateur but from miss management his career has not taken off at all and remember he came along just as the Latino explosion was happening and I think Arum put him to the back of the queue in favour of the development of the Mexicans, Pacquiao etc. I also remember Quillin gave up his belt to duck him too and he dropped and dominated Uzacategui, who then went on to dominate and was sorely done in the US, Andre Dirrell....and I've seen people on here rate Andre. He's been a pro 10 years this November and has only had 28 fights, only 3 of those 28 was scheduled for 10 rounds or more and he didn't fight at all in '17.
Came up short against Andy Lee, in the biggest fight of his career, to the point of being beaten up and stopped, and is now 34. Has fought 3 opponents in a row at a low level, so his career has been miss managed since and hasnt been able to get another eliminator fight for a title. As Papillon said, Quinlin dropped his belt to avoid him so he was feared. I would say his career is over- age and lack of backing behind him will mean his career shivrels up and dies.
You can find threads like this about Korobov from 3 or 4 years ago, he has been awfully managed during his entire career, IMO he was a probably a little burned from the amateur scene where he was a beast, but he's still a skilled guy that is not a draw, too much risk and low reward, that's why no one wants to fight him.
