    Also he got a scandalous stoppage against 44 year old Ray Mercer where he should've been diqualified. Old Ray Mercer was in that fight and started to get his jab going when the much bigger Briggs held him, pushed him on the ropes and punched him two times to the back of the head. So what about a rematch with Mercer?

    It was a legit stoppage although it was a bad one. It was Mercer who brought Briggs to the ropes then Shannon spun him to the ropes. Mercer's arms were pinned so Briggs threw some quick rights to his temple and side of his head.

    I agree it as legit...I looked very close at that. To the temple and not to the back fo the head..put Mercer down for the count..but I agree with that other poster that is was a competitive fight...:bbb
