I ran in to his dad a about 6 months ago he said shawn was having some issues with prize fight and was trying to get out of his contract, but he hasnt fought in over a year.
I was wondering the same thing. I would have figured they would have been challenging top contenders or at least making some noise by now. I honestly figured that they had some stuff to work on before they got him to the next level so they had taken him out of the spot light or something. I doubt he signs with Top Rank. All they have at Welterweight is Pac and Bradley. Porter won't fight Pac because he's cool with Roach. Bradley isn't a big name and after he gets destroyed by Pac. He'll probably be dropping back to Light Welter. Add to the fact that Top Rank fighters only fight Top Rank fighters. So no way he's gonna get to fight guys like Berto, Ortiz, Alexander, Floyd, etc.
You know , I really liked Porter, I think he would've given boxing fans some great fights and its a real tradgedy how the business of boxing can also **** up boxing.
