I've only seen two of Cloud's fights, but I believe he has potential. He can be a serious threat to anyone @ 175 with the right fights. Yet it's almost been a year since Cloud last fought Gonzales. He has no scheduled fights on the books. Cloud should be fighting once every quarter. Anyone heard any news?

Apparently he's likely to face Clinton Woods next up in a title fight eliminator...

I hope he fights soon hes exciting and a big puncher. Probably would get schooled by Dawson at this point though. Sometimes it only takes 1 punch though.

Why didn't he end up fighting RJJ? He was the originally scheduled opponent before Hanshaw was subbed in, IIRC?

Cloud reminds me of Pre-Calzaghe Lacy. He kinda follows guys around the ring looking for one big shot. I think when he steps up he will have a hard time for two reasons, one top fighters are hard to hit, and secondly they fight back, so while he is walking to them they will be hitting him in the face. He needs to get more active and learn to cut the ring off. If he works on those things and his chin holds up he will be a major force.

I wouldnt say that, but I dont see enough there to think that he will became an elite fighter. He will most likely get a title.

Close, but no Cigar! You forgot to mention the fact that someone needs to tell Cloud that jabs are legal!

The kid has potential, but damn, no jab at all.

He's a good raw talent. It's obvious he needs a lot of refinement but he has the raw power. Not many people stop Gonzalez.

I doubt that is true...Cloud started boxing at 16 turned pro at 22. He and Dawson would have barely crossed paths as Amatuers. Plus the only notable amatuer names I can find for Cloud is Curtis Stevens who beat Cloud, and DeAndrey Abron.

Yeah he does just lay his jab out there. I see someone coming over the top of it with some big shots. But really that isnt a big problem, he can fix that whenever he wants to.

The jab thing is one of my pet peeves. The jab is the most basic, and probably most important, punch in all of boxing. The most basic of all combinations in boxing are the jab/right hand, jab/right hand/close with a hook. Double-jab/right hand/close with a hook.

Against a taller guy, work your way in with a jab. When tired, move around and jab. If you're in trouble, keep the opponent off you with a jab. When faced with a really elusive guy, jab to the chest. And so on.

Without a decent jab, even the fundamentals become difficult. It's a basic freaking punch, and it drives me nuts to see a guy with Cloud's potential, and no jab!
