Its got to do with the silly training with weights that wears the fighters down never use to be this crazy
Think its more to do with realizing your going to get beaten and think if you can just drag it out long enougth a easier fight or some nice commentary job contract might come along. look at the washed up boxers on commentary now, there all lining up and cant get that mic in their face fast enougth.
Its happening in all sports that involve a high level of energy and impact. Fitness is key to peak performance and bodies are being pushed to their limits to the point where they are only ever 1 stretch or 1 run or 1 pull away from injury and a lay off. This is the problem with all these sport stars of today vs sport stars from history. Its never right to compare them like for like we have to try take into account those stars from history would be twice as good today as they were back then because we have all these modern and scientific training regimes. But it is causing more and more injuries. Some people though are just straight up injury prone.
I'm surprised a promoter can still buy insurance on a fight involving Haye, because he's pulled out of so many bouts. He pulled out of the first Wlad Klitschko fight in 2009 with a back injury. (Wlad fought Chagaev instead). He fought Wlad Klitschko in 2011 and blamed his poor performance on a broken toe suffered during training camp. He pulled out of a fight with Charr with a dislocated finger or something in 2013. He pulled out of the Tyson Fury fight TWICE in 2013 (first with a cut eye and then with a bad shoulder). He tore an ACL during the first Bellew fight in 2017. He pulled out of the Bellew rematch in 2017 with an injured bicep. If he manages to survive a training camp, he seems to tear or pull or break something during the actual fight. I think everyone has had enough, to be honest.
In Hayes case the causes are: Carrying too much bulk for his frame Combined with the high impact training work, which makes you prone to injury The quantities of magical creatine shakes he is consuming to maintain his bulk at HW
Wow did Haye ever hit hard in his prime. And fast. Love him or hate him some of his knockouts were impressive. He is fighting age however and we all lose that fight eventually.
Never broke down against those two duffer come back opponents did he,looked in fine health actually. I rather think that if Haye don’t fancy it he claims he’s injured
It’s seems as off Hearn is getting abit of the bad luck Warren seems to of had over the last couple of years with pull outs
