What's going with Deontay Wilder??

I think he has to be brought along very slowly b/c he started fighting so late.
Has a ton of potential, but he has a lot of work to do skill wise.

 

Yeah, if he were put in with someone of world-class level right now, he would be stomped. Maybe they should be him in with Abell or Releford for his next fight.

I know his daughter is disabled so perhaps something happened with her? I don't know, but I want to see him back by Mayweather-Mosley.

 

He hurt his right hand and is out for a while. Never good for a prospect to have hand problems early.

 

He got suspended by the State of Ohio because he did a ring walk to a song that had explicit lyrics. Really.

 

I heard he didn't even pick out the song or request that it be played.

He's suspended but is suppose to be able to fight again this summer I believe. Wilder is very raw but there are some tools there to work with. Hard to tell how good he will become but he is obviously worth watching.

 

yep and will pad his way up, right now they are figuring a path that he can take without getting involved with any good fighters, so they can make sure to get him up top.
