watched him fight last year on telly, looked very good, expected him to be avoided, but never seen him since, is he injured? retired? or as i suspect, he's to good for his own good.:huh
El Maachi signed with Goodwin promotions. They don't have a TV contract, hence why discussion of him has died down compared to when he was on Hennessy undercards and getting TV coverage. But, he has been getting regular action and a decent steady improvement in terms of opposition. He fought the tough Frenchman Bertrand Aloa last time out, and this December he is lined up to face his toughest opponent yet against the experienced European Jimmy Colas.
Still want to see him in against Small. Thread hijack, but what's happened to Small? Apart from being a **** etc.
you really are clued up on the boxing bussiness kosaros, is that the same jimmy colas who fought christopher canclaux and got a gift decision in that one, though i will say colas is a good fighter if its the boxer im thinking of.:good i hope to see al maachi soon though, if not on tv, i'll will have to go to london, maybe make a weekend of it, watch him and do some xmas shopping.:hi::good
Think he done himself in showing up at that march or protest or something not seen or heard a word about him since. Can't see many promoters wanting to use him either. Colas will be a more than tough fight for El Macchi but he really needs to take a gamble to get himself into the spotlight.
i like ryan rhodes, but i think al maachi does him , i know he originates in marroco , would he be eligable to box for the euro title?:good
Checking Boxrec, Colas has a win and a loss against Canclaux. I just know him for his fight against Konecny (lost a majority decision), where he gave a decent account of himself. Don't know much about him, but the fact he hanged with Konecny shows he must be a decent operator :good
he cropped up on a muslim news station not to long ago mainly discussing how ramadam fasting afected his training, no mention of boxing again though, political veiws to oneside i thought he beat webb, though his attempt at good publicity stunts has left a lot to be desired.:good
i wish i could make the match, i can;t see any uk or euro boxer at l/middle destroying him, winning a tough awkward fight, possibly, destroying him , definatly not.:good
Would love to see El Maachi v Small after small majorly disrespected him at the Webb weigh in and if Small manages to win, then he should have to run the gauntlet of squaddie boxers until he cant stand.
Did notice he was signed to fight Colas. Great fight that should really tell us how good El-Maachi is.
I'm sure he is not yet elligible to fight for English, British, Euro title and that is part of the reason it is difficult for him to get any decent fights.
