El Maachi signed with Goodwin promotions. They don't have a TV contract, hence why discussion of him has died down compared to when he was on Hennessy undercards and getting TV coverage. But, he has been getting regular action and a decent steady improvement in terms of opposition. He fought the tough Frenchman Bertrand Aloa last time out, and this December he is lined up to face his toughest opponent yet against the experienced European Jimmy Colas.

Think he done himself in showing up at that march or protest or something not seen or heard a word about him since. Can't see many promoters wanting to use him either.

Colas will be a more than tough fight for El Macchi but he really needs to take a gamble to get himself into the spotlight.

Checking Boxrec, Colas has a win and a loss against Canclaux. I just know him for his fight against Konecny (lost a majority decision), where he gave a decent account of himself. Don't know much about him, but the fact he hanged with Konecny shows he must be a decent operator :good

Would love to see El Maachi v Small after small majorly disrespected him at the Webb weigh in and if Small manages to win, then he should have to run the gauntlet of squaddie boxers until he cant stand.

Did notice he was signed to fight Colas. Great fight that should really tell us how good El-Maachi is.

I'm sure he is not yet elligible to fight for English, British, Euro title and that is part of the reason it is difficult for him to get any decent fights.
