I've got old ring magazines and boxing illustrateds from the 60s that were at the boxing club I was at in the mid 70s.
Then I started buying my own ring, boxing news, KO etc etc when I started work and went to another boxing club.
All Francis is in one of the boxing news' with his brother and dad, Alan Rudkin.
Reg Gutteridge used to have a page in ring magazine which highlighted what a good writer he was.
Boxing News played a small part in lifting the colour bar in post war Britain thus giving the Turpin and Buxton brothers their chances at domestic and world level.

Technology killed them like comic books and publishing in general .. I likely went through a fifteen year window where I did not miss a Ring, Boxing Illustrated, World, International or Big Book of Boxing Magazine. It was unbelievably exciting the day they would come out on the newsstands .. tons of them are for sale for next to nothing on eBay ..

We are victims of our own success. Mark my words, the internet will take far more than it gives. Time will bear this out.
