he has had two unimpressive victories against tpysko and manfredo. I hope he can get back to what it was b4 the calzaghe fight. He will always be a threat and I would like to see him against a Taylor or Miranada
I thought he looked like a shell of himself against Manfredo. He doesn't have the same commitment to his punches he used to. I think the rotator cuff injury is something he'll never fully recover from. The problem with Lacy was the way he was trained as a pro. He had a ton of amateur fights but never really learned how to box. He's 30 years old now and it's a little late to fight in different style. He got about as far as he'll ever get on power and solid chin. Now the power is in question.
it wasnt a victory though, the judges did him a huge favour, he never beat tyspko, i scored it that he lost by 2 rounds. Not taking away the fact that he showed heart by staying in the fight wit a fukt shoulder no way, big respect for that, but in my opinion he didnt beat tsypko. I agree with the original post though, there were loads of big talkers about this guy, then he got so badly whooped and they suddenly dissapeared!!!
If I have to read one more idiotic post by some johnny-come-lately ridiculing people who picked Lacy and act like they knew better I'm gonna hurl.
I agree. Lacy showed a ton of heart and you can't take anything away from him there but Tsypko deserved the decision that night. 6-4 in rounds. I suppose if you were to reach you can find another round to give Jeff to make it an even fight but I thought it was a pretty clear-cut win for Tsypko at the end.
