I think you need very fast hands extreme accuracy and 4 game plans change plan every 3 rounds to confuse him so he doesnt start to time you. I will draw up the 4 game plans but its late atm and I cant be bothered maybe tommorow lol.
No. Not really. The more CONVENTIONAL activity against Floyd, the less he will have to think. Conventional =/= unothodox. I'm sorry, but if you think Floyd will have as much ease in predicting an unorthodox fighter as with an orthodox fighter, then you've got another thing coming. Pacquiao's crazy angles and erratic bursts in movement and attack is not even nearly half as easy to defend as you make it out to be. And your counter-punching argument is moot, since I NEVER denied that Floyd will be able to counter-punch Pacquiao. He will, with great success. What I'm discussing is Floyd's ability to defend against an unpredictable attack pattern like Manny's, to which I don't think he'd have as much success as he had with his previous 41 opponents.
Good luck to Floyd with that. Because I don't think he'll get his timing down on a consistent basis. Its especially difficult since he's only throwing 1-2 punches at a time. Also Floyd won't be able to permanently stop Manny's combos. We're talking about a guy who doesn't mind getting hit, as long as he hits back. A guy who loves exchanges. You hit him with well-timed punches, he's gonna hit back with combos regardless if he misses or not. I don't think anyone today has the ability to discourage Pac. That includes Floyd. This is far from an easy fight. IMO.
Your first part will be the biggest key to Mayweather's success and survival... those KO's - lol, wasnt that like 10+ yrs ago, and with a different trainer? I think Roach has been doing a ridiculous bang up job making Pacquiao versatile to suit each fighter he's faced. It seems like its a shut-out if not KO, with any recent opponents he's rolled on. I believe Roach will train Pacquiao to exploit any weaknesses and behavior patterns that Mayweather has... this seems to be a consistent winning element for the Pacquiao team. Every fight, commentators always mention they see a another or new side of Manny... Andre Ward proves that versatility to style is the key to victory....
What's Void not throwing combos have to do with him getting the timing done? emmanuel is open as hell to the lead upper, jab, and straight right hand. Void throws the last two extremely well; I even wonder how many adjustments he'll really have to make. emmanuel is easy to hit with straight punches. Void doesn't have to stop emmanuel's combos to win. He'll box patiently to win a decision if he has to go that way. You guys keep talking like you wish manny isn't human. Marquez was able to drop emmanuel's punch output with counter punching even though he doesn't have the best of defense. This isn't that hard of a fight to call. Both guys brings in things that have been challenge to the other dude in the past, but Void's game is all about figuring the other guy out. Void's gift is his ability to watch his opponents and crack their weaknesses. Easy fight.
PERSONALLY, i think this Mayweather's underlying fear. The inability to discourage Pacquiao. Ultimately, this is wholly reliant on a fighter's will to fight, win and compete. And i believe that Floyd thinks he wont be able to break Manny's will to compete. Watch about every Mayweather fight (which i have since he's been a long time fav of mine) and pretty consistently the opponent will try to assert himself on Mayweather but find himself getting countered ALOT, and chasing alot. He gets frustrated a bit by the 3rd and possibly open up alot to try to hopefully hurt Mayweather early. Opponent gets caught in a real stinging/stunning counter that causes wariness and caution in offense. Middle rounds - opponent getting tired of getting a fist in the face and getting beat to the punch, gets sucked into a counter chess match, and never realizes he's not fast enuf to counter Mayweather's offense lol. Late rounds, Mayweather is moving forward on opponent (which is an OBVIOUS sign that they're just sunk) and picks apart and starts using safe combos. Gets easy decision with usual 35-40%+ punch accuracy or sometimes a late TKO... I think getting Mayweather's fist in the face is not going to discourage Pacquiao and he'll push thru it. In fact punch through it, which is EXACTLY what Mayweather doesnt want to happen to him...
Plan A. Tie his shoe laces toghther. Ok that's not going to be allowed. Size or heigth and reach are going to make a big diffrence in fighting Mayweather. Hear is what doesent work constant pressure, and fighting 3 minuets of every round. How do we know this? This is the same method that everyone trys against Mayweather. It hasn't worked in 41 bouts it is not going to work. Mayweather while able to box in any style is most effective as a counterpuncher. I can't think of any reasdon to stand and tradre with a counter puncher. Mayweather is not just any counter puncher. Pressure against Mayweather is going to open yourself up to him even more. Mayweather has a way of making his oppoent work while he doesn't. The result is in the late rounds his foe is gased and he is fresh. My plan Keep in mind that to beat Mayweather you have need to be a great boxer as well. 1. Box don't fight. Stick and move use your jab. 2. Pace yourself. This is a marthon not a sprint. 3. Counterpunch. They say you shouldn't hook with a hooker or counterpunch with a counterpuncher but sometimes that is exatly what you need to do. Counterpunching is not waiting for your oppoent to punch and reacting. It is seting traps. Making him throw when you want him to. Mayweather's main punches are the left hook and stright right. If you throw a jab he will most likely counter with the stright right. If you throw a jab (the trap) you should know the stright right is comming. Counter that with a stright of your own. 4. Punch in quick short bursts and get out. limit your punchs to know more than 5 at a time. 5. Hit anything above the belt. Scoreing blows are prefered but hitting the shoulder enough whill make it hurt and that arm less effective over the course of the fight. There's no blueprint to beat Mayweather. Whatever plan you have including this one. He will be able to cope with and adapt to. I beleve that when two boxers are both at 100% only one is going to win. I can't think of any curent boxer who can beat Mayweather when he is at 100%, and the list of past boxers who could is a very short list. It would probbly take catching Mayweather on an off night.
In this case, yes throwing more than 1 or 2 punches at a time is important for one's timing because Floyd's fighting a guy who throws countless of punches even if he's getting hit. Think about it, you can have the best timing all you want but there are times when 1 or 2 punches ain't gonna be enough to stop/control/discourage your opponent. REGARDLESS of how good your timing is. That is called being overwhelmed. And Manny is one of the hardest fighters to stop/control/discourage. I mean yeah Floyd's gonna hit him with those 1-2 punches of his, but what if Pac throws back with 3-4 punches of his own? And I wish people would stop comparing Floyd to Marquez, because they are DIFFERENT fighters. Marquez was able to drop Pac's punch output because Marquez actually throws COMBOS when he's counter-punching. When Marquez counters, he doesn't throw only 1 or 2 punches. He throws 3-4-5 punches in a row with godly accuracy. He was able to match Pac's combination output which made Pac wary, therefore the drop in Pac's total punch output. They're different, you can't expect Floyd to do everything Marquez does. You just can't. They counter their opponents, but that's about it as far as them being the same. This is far from an easy fight for Floyd. And would you please calm the **** down? This is why I hate debating with Floyd Fans. I see you guys complaining how "*******s" don't know how to debate because they only started watching boxing a few years ago. Yet when a Pac fan actually debates with you people, you STILL get all hostile and ****. You still put words in our mouths. I mean nobody's saying that Pac is superhuman. Where in the blue hell did I say that? Quote me on it. Just because someone actually thinks Pac wins, they suddenly think Pac's unbeatable? That's ******ed. C'mon now, don't go that route. That's a route for the Floyd groupies, nuthuggers and fanatics. And your not one of them are you?
