This mother****er takes no risks and wont fight Pac without a bunch of restrictions so how do you expect him to lose? he wont fight P.W. or Sergio Martinez so other than these challenges how can there be any interest in Foyd.

Exceptional pressure (High work-rate, fast, hard and accurate punching) is the only realistic way to get to Mayweather. A continuous series of explosive assaults.

A Boxer who can counter Mayweather probably only exists in the Movies.
Mayweather will not exchange - too 'safey first'.

A fighter that forces Mayweather to be less effective in his counter-punching while outworking him, has the best chance.

So Frazier was a better boxer than Ali?
Duran was a better boxer than Leonard?
Chavez was a better boxer than Camacho, Taylor?
Maragarito was a better boxer than Cotto?
Jackson was a better boxer than Norris?

I could go on and on with examples of top-level pressure fighters beating top-level boxers. It depends on who's better at what they do.
Whether Floyd can handle skilled pressure from a true welterweight contender remains to be seen, because he won't face one.

by that time, Floyd would be sporting a **** instead of a dick. a woman beater would do the trick then.

There is no blueprint, its going to take a fighter that is simply better than him. Currently I don't see that fighter, Floyd will retire undefeated.

Probably so, with all those names of top guys he never fought, just the echoes of his loyal followers adamantly insisting that he "would have" easily beat them if he'd actually fought them.

I said boxer or fighter. I'm probably in the minority here but i believe mayweather has the ability to be mentioned in the same sentence as SRR and co. His resume lacks though. When you get to that level of greatness you dont have a particular style of fighting, in other words you can fight a number of different ways ad******g to your opponent. Once you have a complete package you can truly exploit the weaknesses of your opponent. All the boxers you mentioned above had real weaknesses. Norris, perhaps he could take a better punch. Cotto too flat footed and could do with a better inside game. Taylor, too willing to trade. Leonard not willing to stick to a gameplan using his advantages.

As the cotto example you gave is most recent ill break that down. Cotto had large defensive and offensive vulnerabilities. Margarito had many advantages over cotto. Inside fighting being a major one. Cotto lacked this skill and it cost him.

Skilled pressure in the form you describe is probably only present in one fighter today around this weight class, manny pacquiao. Even he is far too open for the jab. When i ellude to out countering the opponent i dont mean sitting back and playing chess with mayweather. I refer to the type of counters a prime tyson could land where he would slip, get on the inside and counter.

Mayweather can be countered and its the only thing which will stop him.

Could you please provide your definition of a counter-puncher as context for your assertion above?

Could you also please offer, as an example, a Mayweather bout where his opponent counter-punched him with any degree of success?

I didnt say counter puncher but a counter punch. The point is no one has managed to out counter him with any degree of success because he hasnt faced that type of fighter.

This is one very tough question. Judging by all the post it seems that noone has the one answer. After he fights Pacquiao and if Pacquiao falls in the line of all the rest low output, look confused, out classed, etc etc.

WE MIGHT BE ASKING THIS QUESTION FOR THE REST OF OUR LIVES!!!!
