I've taken many pretty bad blows to the head and I've never went down. The closest I've ever come to going down was when I had a severe norovirus and I was staggering around like a zombie my vision was blurry and my head was spinning but like LaMotta I still never went down.
But he does know LOL. But yeah, he does possess one of the best chins in boxing history. The Iron Fist and the Iron Jaw. :deal [yt]9n7zExsuCRU[/yt]
I wouldn't know. I'm like Calzaghe. It's impossible for the human woman to build a person capable of knocking me out. :deal
Here's my post from last night. I think he really good in Home For The Holidays, Chaplin, Air America, and Only You. Less Than Zero is good but depressing as hell. As far as new stuff I like Zodiac and The Judge.
Kiss Kiss Bang Bang is his coolest/most memorable performance for me. Quirky "who done it?" sort of film, but a solid one.
I have never been KO'd in the ring - have been buzzed in sparring with a LHW though (I'm JrMW). Being buzzed was a really strange experience - aside from the pain, the sensation it is almost like when you sneeze or whatever - like a moment where your brain has gone into autopilot for a split second before you realise what is going on...then, you are aware of the pain and in self-preservation mode, which takes over from logic to some degree...which would maybe explain why some fighters turtle up and take a knee, or why some just start slugging it out and being reckless? Anyway, I have been KO'd outside the gym - not through fighting though. It's a really strange experience coming round afterwards. I had no idea of where/who/what I was for a few seconds - it was a really primal feeling. I knew I existed and was concious, but had no concept of anything. No concept. Then, a few seconds later reality started to come back and I felt very disorientated and slightly alarmed about it. I wanted to get up and get outta there, and would have done had I not been restrained. When I did get back up I felt woozy and nauseous. In a nutshell, it;s no fun - but you don't remember the blow until later. The worst bit BY FAR is when you first come around and have no idea of anything. That's so weird. Can't possibly imagibe what it's like coming round like that under the bright lights of Vegas, with a concerned team around you and your rival celebrating with his crew a few meters away!
As a 16 yr old amateur I was knocked cold & do not remember a thing about it. I was in my corner at the end of the first round which Id won fairly easily. Coach said " Watch this kid he hits hard" I said " I'm going to knock him out this round" I remember the bell ringing & the next thing I know I'm in the corner with a light shining in my eyes & they were holding me down & wouldn't let me fight. Apparantly I lost over a minute of my life as we came out & both swung big right hands his landed mine didn't lol I never even had a headache or any other ill effects just the loss of memory. I fought the kid again about 6 months later & TKO'd him in the second round Happy days
