"Guardian sport’s Gregg Bakowski faces a few rounds of body sparring with Carl Froch at his hometown gym, the Phoenix Boxing Gym in Nottingham. Gregg tests his limited boxing craft on the former world champion, trying to land a body blow on the former super-middleweight whilst taking a barrage of blows." https://www.theguardian.com/sport/v...-it-like-to-spar-with-carl-froch-boxing-video Worth a watch this.
Well, he's vain (and I don't mean that as an insult) and puts effort into keeping himself in good condition as he ages. All men should, as much as their schedules allow.
This is a hint at the kind of insight Carl could regularly bring to the Sky telecast (and only occasionally does), if only he wasn't half-assing the gig and actually applied himself to it. Sky places no expectations upon its boxing pundits outside of jocular relatability, however — it's no coincidence that their telecasts improve by leaps and bounds whenever Malignaggi is on.
I'm in my 30s now and have good genetics (still look around 25) but it's much harder work. It's easier to get ill, more joint pains, more stress, thinning hair, greying hair etc but I've found one 'secret' is to manage your diet properly; eat good healthy food and in small quantities and it is very easy to keep weight off. I've also tried fasting for long periods of time - 1 small meal a day in 24 hours - and you would not believe how much extra the body works in losing fat and producing extra growth hormone. It's like natural steroids and 'reverses' ageing too.
I'm not sure if sky were involved in the production of this, there's a plug for the Parker fight Under the video. Even do I agree with you. The boxing coverage is very dated in comparison with how they do other sports. They could do with taking the approach the cricket coverage has taken and do more master classes with their ex pros.
Yeah, I didn't mean to imply Sky were involved in the making of this feature, just that it gives a glimpse into what Carl could be offering their boxing telecasts in his current role, if they encouraged more of their punditry crew.
Looks great even though he's been out of the sport for some time. He could come back and do some serious damage.
Froch is one of the better sky pundits, malignaggi is better but isn't very professional and comes off fanboyish but great insight which only a boxer can provide.
