With all due respect, amateur pedigree dont mean ****.

Hopkins never even had an amateur career

 

I thought he learnt boxing in prison?

But yeah, Hopkins is an exception

 

Dont agree Amateur experience usually tells you how things will go in the pro's.

Anyway he looked to have fought at a very good level.

 

I remember hearing somewhere that he boxed a bit when he was a kid and lost interest, but when he was in prison it was really when he started to like the sport because it kept him away from all the other crazy **** that goes on in there.

 

I disagree, Mark Breland is one of the best amateurs of all time. When he turned pro he did nothing but fizzle out.

Mike Tysons pro record was something like 23-4, that didnt stop him from going on to be the phenomenon that he was.

If Kovalev comes from a gym where there is brutal sparring then great :good

 

I think you're putting too much importance on their back stories.

How about analyzing their styles and physical attributes instead

 

JCC Jnr had a happy wealthy upbringing.

No amateur experience.

Became a world champ
