What's left/ who's next for Wlad after Haye?

As things have already got out of hand as far as Wlad - Haye is concerned, I thought I'd change the subject a little.

Assuming Wlad comes through the Haye fight as expected, what do you feel his next move will be? As of yet the guy shows no real signs if wear and tear, and fights with a very effective style that would enable him to fight on for a good few years.

I'll start off with a few options:

Although it's unlikely the pair could take too many of each other's best shots, if the Haye fight turns out to be an entertaining war then a rematch could be a realistic and lucrative fight. Can't see this happening though.

Anothet lucrative but unlikely option would be Adamek, if he manages to beat big bro. This fight would sell itself due to the family factor and would be a very obvious and easy fight ti make. However, I don't give Adamek much of a chance against VitKlit, except maybe by cuts.

Then there's Povetkin, but I really can't see him wanting the fight anytime soon. At least until he's ready to cash out. I guess the Chisora fight may happen if he avoids defeat, but we all know that's going to be a whitewash.

It's not in doubt that for as long as he continues to fight he'll command big money and Audiences on the continent - but would you like to see him keep fighting whoever is avaliable (who inevitably aren't going to be on his level)? Any prospects you see challenging him anytime soon? Or would you see him retire in the near future?

  2. Povetkin must also finally man up and take his beating like a man as well, funny enough Ustinov can't be to far away from a title shot as well. Solis after a tune up fight would be a good fight if he's in shape, likewise with Arreola, if he wins well on saturday and then takes out another top 20 he's back in the picture. Probably another 2 years before Helenius then steps up.

I would like him to keep fighting. Champions retiring as a champions is not good for boxing.

He would still have lots of opponents left.
He could unify with IBA champion James Toney, fight Adamek, Helenius, Povetkin, Solis or Boytsov for example.

Also in couple of years some new contenders will rise

Of course it dosent mater as he will lose to Haye

I like a Solis fight, preferably against Vitali but I'd still be interested in a Wlad fight. He gets an unfair rap for the Vitali fight from some fans claiming he took a punch and bottled it, but he has clearly suffered and injury and has undoubted pedigree - the division isn't deep enough to write off a fighter like Solis just yet.

    James Toney :yep

If he beats Haye, I'd forget about his heavyweight legacy in future fights and concentrate on his disturbingly terrible EVT resumé. Consequently, Solis or Chisora must be regarded as potential opponents

They were making the fight in December, but IBF refused it as Toney hadnt have boxing match for over a year.

Now there aint that problem anymore so it could happen

    This is true.

Wlad needs go fight Solis to restore his family name after Vitali's crushing, one sided EVT loss to the Cuban. This should be his priority

Should he win against Haye then he should do another round of bashing up his mandatories. IBF and WBO may be due soon.

I love James Toney, but is he still relevant? No.
I don't think a fight for the IBA title should be called a unification match either mate.
I think when you like at the landscape over the next 2 years, then there is no new contenders who haven't had a shot at either brother, other than Boystov and Povetkin. So there is not a lot for him in the near future that hasn't already been done. The heavyweight recession looks likely to continue for the forseeable future.
And with Haye claiming he will retire, then he doesn't figure in the future of the division regardless of how he does against Wladimir.
Let's hope some of the prospects kicking about can climb up to elite level, sooner rather than later. Hopefully there is some future HOFer's just around the corner. The olympics next year will be interesting.

Actually my friend... thats a great question. Team Klitschko were very happy when Haye hit the division.... it gave us a foe..... after that.... we just dont know... only other guy of interest was Adamek and Vitali has him.....

I have heard some people on ESB mention Solis, Povetkin, Dima,......I just dont know where we will go after we beat Haye... actually I do know wlad wants to face Chisora... but after that...........:huh

Povetkin needs to step up. Solis & vitaly would be good if and only if Solis was in shape and ready to fight. Chisora could happen down the road. Arreola vs Wald could be a good fight if Arreola can climb back to the top. Not many good fights out there right now if your sitting at the top. Haye is a good match up that everyone wants to see.

If Wald wins (Think he does by KO within 6, my thoughts), then what is really left for Wald at this point? Think he fights on but against who is a very good question, I don't have a good answer though. Think he will fight on to try to capture all the belts once Vitali retires. Also agree Adamek could be good vs Wald if he beat Vitali, but I don't think that will happen. Forgot to mention...thanks for the laugh about James Toney!

    Peace

I can see Adamek only if Vitali lost, can't really see that, though it would probably get done in that case.
He already beat Chagaev, Thompson and Chambers. So I doubt we go back there again anytime soon.
Povetkin I doubt is willing to take the fight yet, but he should. I don't know when Teddy will think he's ready, but **** or get off the pot.
A re-match with Chambers seems like a bore fest.
Its possible that Arreola might give him a good fight, at least he will take the fight to Wlad, he did at least try against Vitali but was totally out classed at that time.
Helenius might be ready in a year.
On paper it seems Wlad is just too much for most of these guys, but I would have said that about Sanders and Brewster as well. But given the fact that Wlad has really improved his game since then he is a really tough fight for anybody in that division and his confidence seems very high about his ability to control the ring.
I guess I'd like to see Povetkin, Arreola or Helenius sooner than later.
A match with Solis seems a long way off, only because we have no idea what Solis will be after the re-hab, he needs a few solid fights first, I can't see that fight happening until late 2012 at best, and by then everything could be different.
