Corrales, Gatti, JMM, were always immpressive in their ability to get off the canvas to win fights. Gamboa is one of those guys too. a lot of guys that get knocked down that arent badly hurt, are hurt more mentally than physically. a lot of fighters dont have that toughness to get up and not lose focus in the event of a flash knockdown. Most guys get up and stray from their gameplan and abandon their skills. Great champions know exactly what to do in the event of a knockdown and dont panic. they know there opponent might get wreckless pursuing them and and they exploit that. Or if they really are hurt they know how to run the clock out and stay out of harms way and get back on track the next round. i always think it is immpressive when a guy gets off the canvas to win a fight, because a lot of guys cant dont find a way to win after being down..

Knockdowns, because they are two point rounds. Doesn't matter how much heart you show. As Pac/Marquez 1 illustrates, this isn't a fight in a bar where you can say you think fighter A beat fighter B because he looked better for the longer period of time. It's a sport with rules and a point system and in the end you have judges adding up the rounds off a slip of paper, not going back and remembering what heart was shown by whom.

I see your point of view and understand. Your taking a step back from the action and seeing it as simple as possible...as a sport.
