A shutout does just as much...Never heard of a disputed or controversial shutout... Maybe somebody thought a fighter won a round or two but there is never doubt on who won...

I think the Posters question tries to put things in terms of black & white when there are so many shades of gray...

I don't know, Martinez gave Cintron a real boxing lesson and only got a draw.

ánd visa versa. I mean a 12 round boxing clinic says to me they didnt have enough skill to stop there opponent.

You have to look at it both ways.

As long as its a KO because of good boxing and not a lucky shot then surely it has to be a KO...

Win every round plus you can still get the KO and have won every round it just proves a superiorty or a dominance. If a guy wins 11 rounds and then with 10 seconds gets drilled and out people the next day will think the loser was the better boxer and thinking nothingg less and will fav or him in the rematch

    this.

KOing someone with a decent to great chin is as impressive as schooling a smart boxer.

A late TKO after a brutal 7 to 9 round beatdown is the most impressive I think. An early KO can be attributed to a lucky punch, whereas a one sided beatdown for numerous rounds before a KO or TKO establishes dominance in skill and the wow factor of a KO.

But based on the choices, I'd go with with winning every round because it leaves absolutely no room for question as to who was better. You won't get comments (as dumb as they are) like Hatton winning by a country mile before getting KO'd.

You know the more I think about it, the more interesting the question is.

For instance, if you score 120-108(or better) on every judges card that means you really beat the ever living crap out of your opponent, because judges will occasionally look for comparison rounds(for instance I'm still trying to find the round JMM won against Mayweather). However, some might question how impressive it is to dominate in such emphatic fashion and not get the KO.

a complete domination from the 1st round up to the later rounds and then eventually pulling a huge KO/TKO is the most impressive one. like a one-sided beating. what more could you ask for on that

KO, on the basis that Boxing is a martial art at it's core. Disabling one's opponent via KO is a more impressive demonstration than taking points off him.

I think it depends who the fighters are.

If you have a reputation to be a KO artist and fail to KO a weak opponent, then a 12 round sweep just becomes a long plot without the exciting ending. But if that same KO artist faces a tough opponent and manages to win every round, that would be impressive.

If you are fighting in the lower weight classes where KOs are less frequent and you score a KO, that would definitely be more impressive.

Embarassing clinical shutout with a very brutal KO with one second to go in the very last round of a 15 Rounder
