Canelo vacates and gets a special belt from his friends at the WBC, so Ring also has a way not to strip him of their belt. Golovkin fights the WBO belt owner for far more than he's worth, and becomes undisputed without being "lineal", like Tyson back in the day.
As much as I want to see Golovkin starch Canelo (which would happen at 155 or 160) I hope Golovkin sticks to his guns and refuses to go down to 155. It is completely absurd to have a unification fight with the lineal MW title on the line at anything other than the 160 lb limit.
