Burns said he want to fight for the ring belt and unify but Frank didnt sound too keen saying Burns will be out in December. Firstly looking at the other 3 belt holders none of them will be available for December: IBF champ Miguel Vazquez is fighting Marvin Quintero on 27/10/2012 WBC champ is fighting Antonio DeMarco is fighting Adrian Broner on 17/10/20112 WBA is vacant but it is being contested by Richard Abril vs Sharif Bogere on the 03/11/2012 So none of them will be available for a December fight Going by Boxrec the remaining fighters from the Top 10 are Nihito Arakawa Gavin Rees Raymundo Beltran Henry Lundy Ammeth Diaz None of them really excite me too much, If i had to choose i would pick Henry Lundy just for Burns to try and get a bit of US exposure and hopefully build to a fight with one of the other champs in early 2013. I'm not to hopeful for this though i think Frank will probably bring in someone from the WBO top 15 then have the Harrison fight after that. Like many others i think Ricky may have to leave Frank if he wants the massive fights he deserves.
I think they will make the Harrision fight next, unfortunatly. Too much money in it not to happen. Ricky will deal with that easily enough and then push for a unification fight around April next year
I think they'll go for it too. It's got the good vs evil slant, an all Scottish matchup.... grizzly vet vs rising star..... Everything really apart from it being a mismatch. Harrison looked poor last night, but I still think that people will buy into it. They'll probably create some drama by arranging an accusation of Harrison tearing up a petrol station in Coatbridge and threatening to set fire to the cashier or something.... Allegedly stops at nothing to get what he wants.
He will fight an easier opponent in December and then look to unify next year...hopefully Broner beats DeMarco and Broner v Burns gets done
Get Broner to Scotland or the MEN. Broner is to cocky, will under estimate Burns and will **** himself in the atmosphere.
VVarren wanted a Burns v Mitchell rematch followed by Harrison, that was the dream scenario. Burns will pack out the SECC for his next couple of fights regardless of opponent. No way VVarren risks sending him to Vegas
burns would give broner hell. burns is very strong and tough, as well as being a tidy boxer. i said from day one his strengh would be the key in this fight. he bullied mitchell when he wanted to. didnt expect him to stop kev so early tho.
Guy on another site pointing out that Liam Walsh is now number 13 with the WBO, easy fight to make for Frank, strangely I think it will be him
For wot its worth there aint one person in coatbridge who wants him to fight harrison next, including the rickster
Want to see him in with a higher level fighter! No more British level guys like Mitchell! Forget Walsh, and Harrison for the moment. It's not Ricky fault but W will keep his cash cow moving forward with easy defences, fuuuck that £50 for that level ain't worth it, simple as that! Well done Ricky, W get your finger out your arse and get decent fight set up
