If he doesn't fight B-Hop, I gotta think the fights are Woods or Pavlik. Of course, I don't know what mandatories are looming out there.
Come on Am....your better than that and speaking from your heart not your head. You know there was more to Hop and Joe not fighting the past than just Hop not wanting him. And you and I have spoken about this before and YOU KNOW this is the fight that makes the most sense for BOTH of them. No way this fight doesnt happen.
If Calzaghe/Hopkins is made, I will definitely fly out to see it. I think the best location would be Madison Square Garden.
Why would X want no part of Joey C? At least on the States, Joe is not ordinary but not such an high commodity to have the old man river looking for a way out like the RJJ jr - Tito winner, and since Tito may come out as winner... Bernard took 38 years old Tarver, 36 years old Winky and Joe C is the natural sequence not only cause he's 35 but because he fights around 168, 175 pounds. A great confrontation it would be for the up-coming year, The Italian Dragon/Prince of Wales against The Executioner, two men that defined and dominated the 160 and 168 pounders for an almost unbelievable long period of time, mid, late 90s until mid 2000s... Now is the Time!
If no Hopkins, the best fight will be against Chad Dawson. A fight against Pavlik down the line would also be great.
Wow is it really that sure to happen. Would love to see that. But you know what they say about things that seems to good to be true...
Ah hah. I also think he'll fight Woods as it's a logical big money local fight. But the Hopkins bout will be made aswel.
They all were crying several months back about how Calzaghe would never step up to the plate and face a real challenege in Kessler. The fight makes career sense for both men, both legacy wise and financially.
Maybe it is time for Calzaghe to retire... One last fight against an easy opponent as a final farewell and one last decent pay day, someone like Paul Smith or perhaps Robin Reid (if he is not too badly beaten by Froch); indeed the Reid fight would be a way to redeem Calzaghe's slight black mark on his record.
