Coming off his first defeat in a highly disappointing performance, what does he do now? Dan Rafael quoted Gary Shaw as saying they were going to wait for the Pascal rematch, but that wouldn't be until next spring! Surely, after a year of inactivity, they won't hold Dawson idle. Wouldn't Dawson/Cloud make sense while Pascal fights Hopkins? I know there is talk of trouble outside the ring for Chad, but taking another eight months off hardly seems like a good idea. Thoughts?
Dirrell-Dawson. To me this is a battle to see who the master technician of our sport is. As of now I would pick Dirrell to win a comfortable UD. Diaconu-Dawson is also long overdue in my book. If Diaconu wins his next bout, I say make it happen!
Yeah it was fighting twice a year that stunted him as a young fighter and got him into this mess in the first place. A cloud fight would be good for the fans but I don't think it would be good for Chad. I don`t think you want to put an obviously chinny fighter into a fight with a big puncher. A good tune up fight against a really tough B- or C+ fighter would be a great idea. Tune up fights are a part of boxing. There is no shame in taking a stay bussy fight while you wait for Pascal to finish his business with Hopkins. Like **** its as easy as getting his ass on the undercard of some PPV (could even be an off camera bout), or have him headline an ESPN2 fight card.
