Well eventhough I'm a huge David Haye fan I'm also a big fan of "Del Boy" Chisora and thought he might have a good chance to win last Saturday if he fought the right fight. Chisora, is a good fighter but can be better if he is under 240 and uses his jab more. Any thoughts?
get under 240 first of all, because simply put he's faster when at or below 240 and not just standing there, resetting and taking shots. take a fight at european level, like a dimitrenko or sprott or some eurobum, or a string of eurobums, then get back in there. he's still young and he has the determination to still do very well, and we all know he can sell a fight.
also, keep don charles as a trainer. dereck's built for that style, but if charles isn't the type to motivate him into his best fighting shape, he needs to get a nutritionist and/or strength and conditioning coach. he's got the money at this point, four straight big money bouts, two of which were blockbusters.
Very few Hw's today fought the comp Chisora fought the last few fights. Even Wlad couldn't win all 4 fights that Chisora fought. To be honest I think V. Klit would beat Wlad. Also, Chisora beat that Finland Hw but was robbed.
I'd like to see him fight at a lower level for a comeback. An easy opponent, someone who he can get motivated for but lacks a threat. After that, maybe a top 20 fighter and then someone like Dimitrenko or Adamek, who will get Chisora to another world title shot. A 3/4 fight period where he can learn how to win again, gain some experience, improve his confidence and lose some fat would be perfect at this stage.
Del-boy is the HW equivalent of Froch, except he's not as skilled and he loses more. He deserves to have a fanbase because he will fight anyone and is entertaining to watch. It's despicable the way Klit-tards are criticising him now Haye beat him if only because they crow on about all the other contenders not being 'ready' to fight a Klitschko, especially if they are of an eastern Euro persuasion (ie ****).
He'll become a necassary test and name on records or any up and coming euro HWs like Price and maybe a few Americans to. Although there are still a few fights I'd like to see like Mitchell, Adamek, and Arreolla etc.
He could a beat haye if he would have worked the jab off a high guard and held back on the knife stabbing rights. He was starting to get to haye even though he was fighting wild. He should come here to USA and beat these bums
the man isn't a stepping stone/acid test just yet. he's still got a career of his own. he's lost four in a row but his fights need to be put into context. he was grossly out of shape against fury, robbed against helenius, gave vitali one of the toughest fights of his career, and lost handily to haye, all the while he's still in his twenties. he still can regroup and come back strong.
