What's next for George if there's no rematch?

I'm assuming that Froch is going to want to take a while out so ideal scenario for me would for Groves to fight Bika or Stieglitz in the mean time (perhaps around March) and pick up a belt. That then makes the Froch rematch even bigger (if it could be). Make it a stadium fight around July time.

More importantly from Groves point of view though, picking up a belt beforehand gives him a greater bargaining position. With a rematch being a unification bout he could easily argue for a 50-50 split.

Would also be good to see Degale work his way into a mandatory position for the end of the year. Get a proper British round-robin going.

 

Incidentally isn't Stieglitz supposed to be fighting Abraham again? Any word on when that's likely to happen if so?

 

How the **** can u question Frochs balls after that performance.We all know Groves deserved to win that fight but you have to admit that Frochs heart and guts are top class.the man has balls the size of coconuts and to suggest otherwise is ridiculous.

 

Stieglitz then Kessler.

I honestly don't think Froch fancies a rematch.

Degale's been beat by Groves as an amateur and as a pro, unless he's bringing a world title to the table Groves doesn't need him.

 

I doubt we'll see a rematch. I can see Groves signing with Sauerland if he doesn't resign with Matchroom, they'd be able to get him a title fight and then possibly the Froch rematch or a Kessler fight.

 

My thoughts exactly.

 

Get Bika or Steglitz at the O2 - he will sell it out with ease . The rematch Froch in the summer.

Sauerland are a good shot - Kessler wont want to know. Haye said Groves schooled him in sparring.

I've watched it back enough times. Carl Froch landed a few shots in which time I was still moving, defending and firing back. I was NOT in any real trouble. The tide of the fight was NOT turning as I had stiffed Froch's legs with a jab earlier in the round. The only point I stopped punching back was when Howard Foster got me in a head lock with his full weight on me. It was an absolute joke whether it was sinister or not Froch's boxing celebrity status has stood in the way of me becoming world champion. Away from dodgy reffing why was I only one point up at this point on two judges score cards? This corruption in boxing needs to end now. We have seen far too many wrong decisions in the UK of late and it will only serve to put fans off the sport.

Groves needs to stay patient and bide his time, he will get his opportunities. First things first, stop saying **** on FB before you're given another title shot! He is young and already one of the best SMW out there. George Groves is currently ranked as:

WBA: 2nd
IBF: 2nd
WBO: 2nd

So really, he should get a chance come next, or the following fight. He is a challenging for all belts except WBC, which doesn't matter if he grabs a belt, as he will get priority in a unification fight.
