Guerrero is an embarrassment for actually trying against someone far more experienced than him? You guys really define scum. Surely you must be one of the people who considers Guerrero a joke while hailing Antonio "Hands of Plaster" Concreto all the way to your caravans.
I'd like to see him fight anyone with a title at 147: Adrien Broner, Devon Alexander, or Timothy Bradley. Soto Karass deserves a title shot.
Well it seems like Andre Berto has officially made himself the gatekeeper of this division which is sad consider he was the former WBC champion and he was one of the top fighters in this division. I think Soto has earn himself a chance to fight another credible 147 opponent like Robert Guerrero, Victor Ortiz, Keith Thurman, Maidana, or maybe a title shot but I don't see that happening. I think the most logic choice for him right now I can see happening is a fight with Robert Guerrero, Maidana, or Keith Thurman.
There's a ton of fights for Soto-Karass and I'm sure Showtime will televise some of them. I think a match up with Thurman would be a great fight or even a Berto rematch.
Since nothing seemed to come of those Victor Ortiz vs. Alfonso Gomez rumors a couple of weeks ago, Soto Karass should target Gomez to avenge that loss. JSK has improved by leaps and bounds since 2010, even though his record on paper may have gotten uglier only breaking even with a .500 W-L and getting stopped twice having never previously been. It began with him really getting up for Jones I and getting shafted, then losing the rematch when Jones basically ran all night. He went to war against Rosado and Maidana and succumbed but put up spirited efforts, sandwiching a couple of B-level victories, and this year has put together some nice momentum beating Aydin and Berto. Just looking at him, it's a completely different fighter than he was when he lost to Gomez. He always had the physical tools and the mental toughness (I was pegging him as "the next Antonio Margarito, but even better! " way back in 2006 and was disappointed to see his development slow and eventually plateau) but it wasn't until the last three years that he really buckled down and found that focus to bring it all together. Since they last met, Gomez is also sitting on a level record of 2-2 but comes away looking a bit less impressive. He literally retired ancient El Temible (who said afterwards that he essentially brought nothing left into the ring anymore...though he would stubbornly come back and campaign until just this past February), kayoed Calvin Green, got thrashed by Canelo Alvarez once Canelo stopped playing around with him, and was game but still lost clearly to Shawn Porter shortly before Porter got outfought by and given a gift over Julio Diaz. He is currently sitting on a layoff of more than a year since then. So based on recent form I'm not sure a rematch wouldn't go very differently.
Antonio Margarito had Floyd running all through his career away from him. Robert Guerrero was a ****ing easy cherry-pick who didn't even have the courage to throw punches in the later rounds. Dude isn't even close to a B fight; he's a ****ing C- fighter and Karass would destroy him.
