I don't think going to cruiserweight to fight Green is a good idea. He's got only a few fights left I believe, so he'd better fight big names. Fighting Adamek would have been much better. Hopkins? he'll not accept a fight now, he'll wait for Jones to win a "big" fight. Johnson or Dawson? fighting the winner of the fight would be great.
Hopkins, that's what I want to see. No reason why Hopkins would say no it's not like he has many options.
Agree'd i think thats the perfect solution , he was exposed against Calzaghe to be well past his prime but Dawson is not Calzaghe . However , i beleive if Dawson beats Johnson well then Hopkins has no choice but to fight him . If Jones can get 2 or 3 good wins under his belt in the meantime then the winner of Hopkins Dawson must be odds on to fight Jones !!!!!
Isn't Green all but confirmed? Ya know at this point....Camacho vs RJJ would be fun from a freakshow standpoint.
Johnson/Jones would be interesting, but Hopkins/Jones would sell tickets. Loser has to retire, Jones would have to hang em up.
He's a little overrated around here, but he's definitely no fool...he'll fight some non dangerous opponents and end with a big pay day and a bad, bad beating by someone (Dawson is my guess).
His last fight aside, it's tough to watch Jones. It's hard to see the man who was without question the P4P for years. The man continues to fight on as a shadow of what he was. I admire his diligence and grit, but it's almost depressing, like when Jordan came back out of retirement and went from the greatest to barely above average. While Jones may be a relative contender, he's just no where near the man that made him what he was.
