I wouldn't call it a beating considering he was winning pretty much every round bar 1 up until the 'stoppage'. Premature stoppage too.

    Needs to be a rematch.

I think the WBC gave Demarco an optional defense before the mandatory Linares rematch.

Leave freddy roach, he has great technical skills, go with virgil hunter or Nazim Richerdson gain more of a ring IQ...last fight he made silly mistakes...should have fought his fight

Rematch. He looked great until the last round. Stoppage was premature as well

I don't think the stoppage was premature. He was winning every round until the last where he was eating significantly more punches even prior to the stoppage. You could see he wasn't comfortable with them at all, kept wincing after every punch. The 1-2 he ate took his legs and Demarco was ready to pounce on him. Was a good stoppage if you ask me, theres only so much benefit you can give someone like Linares but fact is, the damage to his face was horrendous and as much as another few punches might well have caused something permanent.

Really don't know what's next for him. Offensively he looks superb but given how easily he cuts you'd think he needs to tighten up the defence a bit. Demarco was hardly a volume puncher as well, although he did incredibly well to not be disheartened by the beating he took prior to the stoppage.

He beats DeMarco in a rematch, that's the fight he should be gunning for. A great talent, offensively he's awesome, he just needs to work on his defence a little more.

    stoppage was fine.

but i feel like linares could definitely win a rematch so long as he tightens up the defense. i had him winning the fight before the cuts (i think most ppl did).

so long as he doesnt cut i could see him win a 12 round UD against demarco.

Seen alotta great fighters suffer devastating KO's 'n comeback to show how special they were. Think Linares will be one of those.
