What's next for Juan Manuel Marquez??

i'd love to see Guzman-Marquez

 

So would I...but it ain't gonna happen. Guzman doesn't deserve a shot at Marquez. Campbell doesn't either, really...but even he deserves more of a shot at him...

 

It would be the best fight he could make below 140 as far as taking on the biggest challenge.

The only problem with Guzman is that he is such a "high risk, low reward" fighter. I doubt it happens. Guzman is basically pissing his carrer down the toilet.

 

Hatton V JMM in England would be amazing.

 

It would be better in Vegas or in stadium azteca. JMM has gone to Houston to fight Diaz, went to Indonesia and got robbed against John. He deserves a fight on neural ground or on his home turf.

 

when Guzman wins his title, i'd say that would be a good enough reason for Marquez to take the fight, and like ya'll said its his best fight under 140...i'm sure he'd love to be the undispitued champ at LW, it would be a great accomplishment for whats looking like is gonna turn out to be an ATG career

last fight i saw there was chavez v haugen which was an 130,000 awesome atmosphere.

 

Marquez was fantastic last night.

I would love to see him fight Valero. It would be a genuine 'Event' fight and I'd lke to see the look on the Valero nuthuggers faces' when Marquez blows him away inside five rounds.

However, I think he deserves a 'keep busy' fight next. The winner of Khan-Barrera would be perfect, routine title defence. Khan would pose some problems with his speed, but his power is overrated and I don't believe he can hurt Marquez.

On the other hand, Marquez, who WILL land on Khan (easily) can take Khan out with any punch he chooses. It would still be a relatively big fight as Khan is hyped so much in the UK (a joke I know) and Marquez could basically chill for a bit and prepare for his next 'proper' fight. I'm not assuming Khan beats Barrera by the way, but I don't think Marquez would have a particularly hard night with this version of Barrera either.

So, Nate Campbell at 140 (if he has a belt of some description by then) or the winner of Holt-Bradley. Depending on how Marquez adjusts to the weight (let's assume he ahs no problems to support my predictions) then Marquez stops Holt or decisions Bradley.


But honestly, if Valero can beat Pitalua, however bad/good he looks doing it, stick him in with Marquez. Let's see how far his wild swinging (with IMO overrated power does him) get hims. Let's see him try the much-vaunted (by nuthuggers) boxing skills he 'demonstrates in sparring' gets him.

Let's see how far taking Marquez's uppercut gets him? A few feet down to the ground I suspect.

 

I think he will move up to 140 as it looks like being a strong division this year. Hatton, Pacquiao, Campbell, Bradley, Holt, Judah etc. The chance to be first Mexican four weight world champion (I think thats right). If he stays at lightweight the only fights that will add to his legacy would be Guzman or possibly Valero if he wins WBC. A fight against Barrera all depends on how good he looks against Kahn. Erik Morrales has been talking of a come back fight against Marquez but I can't see it being competitive. Although it is the only fight missing from the Barrera - Morrales - Pacquiao - Marquez quartet.

1. Stay at 135 and be undisputed.
2. Stop talking shite about PBF, it aint gonna happen, is a blatant lie and everyboy sees thru it.
3. Fight only at 140 for either Pac or Hatton for money then retire.
