What should Lomachenko do next? Fight the winner of Commey-Lopez to become undisputed? Move back down to 130 to fight Davis?
After unifying he should call Garcia back down to LW, or even a catchweight with no titles if Garcia can't make LW. Beat him then unify SFW.
Get a fight in before unifying with the Commey/Lopez winner. Then try and entice Garcia to actually get his fat arse down to 135 for a fight, if that doesn’t work which I don’t think it will move down and clear out 130.
He's going to fight simultaneously in three divisions because he can still make 126 and obviously 130 the later of which with utter ease because he only weighed 3lbs over the 135 limit when he fought Linares and Pedraza or max 4lbs against the later. 138 is 3lbs above the lightweight limit, 8lbs above the super-feather limit, and 12lbs above the featherweight limit and he looked barely any different on the scales at the weigh in the other day than he did on fight night and even if he came in as high as 140 that's still only 14lbs above the featherweight limit and an awful lot of fighters are rehydrating that much and even a lot more. Even all the champs down at 130 weigh more than him on fight night. Timestamped This content is protected
The Tank Davis fight is the biggest and best option for Loma right now, and its the biggest and best opton for Tank too.
The scenario you outlined here is probably the most likely. I am hoping, however, that Lopez bails on the December date with Commey, thereby opening the door for a Loma-Commey unification tilt.
Inoue hasn't beaten anyone over 122lbs, much less full fledged featherweights, so let's pump the brakes on that.
That could happen, I get the feeling Lopez isn’t or doesn’t like the idea of Commey right away. Tbh that’s an excellent fight in itself.
Needs to move up. I said several years ago that there isn’t any competition for him south of 147. The only competition for him was Mikey, but he moved up and fought Spence. I can’t think of any fighter at the moment at 140 or 135 that would even take 4 rounds off him. At 147 he’d have some competition.
