Ortiz already is world class level just not elite. There are only a couple of those and he has to beat one to become one.

A gatekeeper fight wouldn't hurt if nothing better can be made, he still has some learning to do and theres no point rushing him now that he has got himself into a good little spot.

 

I believe they will fight for unification in 2012- NEXT fight for Ortiz is perhaps Zevick i think.

And as entertaining as it is he has to not be so absolutely reckless. -Or someone will put him down again. A cooler head like Manny or Mayweather will use that against him. I think he should stay at welter though.

 

I wanna see him in against an agressive fighter. someone he can showcase his offensive ability and build on his fan base. Just don't go back anywhere near 140, no catchweight, nothing. He looked rejuvenated at welter, if they could only entice Maidana to meet him there..

a rematch with berto/maidana at better venue's would be best
