Given that sergio is getting up there in age, I'd favor mayweather. no need to fight a cruiserweight again. I'd list:

    Mayweather (Superfight)
    Geale - most deserving MW
Pirog or GGG (either would be ok No need for an eliminator)
Ward (at 164 another Superfight that I think would sell)
    Quillen - up and comer

GGG should fight Pirog or Geale while Martinez is resting from his injuries, and when Martinez comes back he can fight the winner.

That is how it should be.

    1. Geale (clear cut next best MW, on paper)
    2. Golovkin (clear cut most dangerous MW, in theory)
    3. Pirog
    4. Sturm
    5. Macklin re-match
    6. Chavez Jr re-match

And that's it. I don't care too much in hypothesizing him facing fighters who are below his weight class.

And if you say, "Oh, well Sergio in reality is just a 154 pounder" then please be consistent and say that since being MW king, 2 of his 5 title defenses have been against 154 pounders (Williams II and Dzinziruk), and he should face the real competition of his division. And if you are taking that route, then let us say that Mayweather, Pacquiao, and Cotto are all "true welterweights or junior welterweights, or even junior lightweights."

Either way, I don't think Mayweather fights above 154 his whole career and likely just at 147 in the short term, I don't see Alvarez moving up any time soon at all, and I don't see Cotto moving up in weight to face Sergio when he can make more money to face Chavez Jr if moving up is what he will do.

Considering how long sexy, will be out. The middleweight division will be different next summer. So hopefully somebody emerges, clearly for him to have another big fight.

Quillen and french guy are fighting.
Mackin is still in the top 5, easily and Geale is a champ.
GGG and Pirog are both there as well. GGG is the real deal, I don't think Pirog though.

Williams was the No. 2 Middleweight (and No. 5 P4P) although yes, it was at a catchweight and probably beneficial to both at the time; Macklin and Chavez, Jr were both Top 3 middleweights as well.

The Fighter that can pay him the most and/or get him closer to P4P #1 which he says is key in his motivation.

Great H.L. by the way. Thanks.

If I were Martinez and 37 I wouldn't want to fight anyone else in their twenties, so that would limit the options further, I expect his management might agree.... Canelo, for example, would be all wrong.
