Simmy is a sick ****er, he prefers smashing up fighters in their own backyard, & with all due respect to Swifty, Lindsey is THE man to beat at the moment.

It's definitely a winnable fight for Simpson.

I'm not as big on Lindsay as most people are..... he's good but not that good, Derry Mathews was tooling him for 8 rounds remember :hey

The problem Warren will have if he makes Smith vs Lindsay is that he'd have to push Smith on if he wins - which I'd make him favourite to do. John is definitely a worse match for him.

He's clearly not ready for the world stage, so Frank is best keeping him on the leash for another few months.

 

I'm in the same boat as a lot of people with regards to Saturday's fight, i had John winning by 2 clear rounds and was gutted for him when the decision was announced as i was 100% convinced the boy Smith didn't do enough to win the title.

I do concede John lost the first 4 rounds but he picked it up after that and in my eyes only lost the 11th after that so a rematch to me would be another great contest, obviously John would need to head down to Liverpool for that match up but he fights better away from home anyway.

Being a fellow Greenockian i expected Simpson to come away with win here setting up the Lindsay fight but that's a bit up in the air now, but there's no doubt a Linday-Simpson fight would be a better contest in my eyes.

For John personally he must be gutted losing 3 contests that could easily have been wins on his record but head up Simmy there's plenty still in you

I have said on a few threads now, as soon as my hand is healed I will gladly give John Simpson the rematch. He was good enough to accept the fight with me when he didnt need to, so I will more than willingly return the compliment.

Was reading in the local paper today that John seems to be going to go down the super bantamweight route now so no chance of a rematch if that's the case.

 

Not a good call IMO, has he even made SBW before? Bit odd to attempt that at this stage of his career. Would have thought he would be desperate to grab a rematch with Smith, even Swifty said no problems when his hand heals.
