What's next for Spence?

Hopefully porter cuz I know porter is down to fight. Garcia will get tf out of dodge if he beats porter and move up

 

Broner sucks. Have no real interest in seeing him a fight of relevancy ever again. Putting Josh Taylor over would be alright though....

 

He mentioned Vargas post fight, so I think that will be next for him this year. Acceptable Top 10 contender that should set him up for a unification fight with the Porter-Garcia winner early next year, if all goes well.

 

Nice sentiment but he is doing this to make money and he is in the prime of his life. They should be stacking fights in front of him like pins in a bowling alley. One after the other. When these guys are at the top so many of them think it is going to be gravy train forever. Look at the number of pro athletes that are broke after 5 years out of the sport. Something like 80%! It blows me away how often these guys blow their money, on women, on children, on cars, on houses, never investing it, just spending it. Tragic. Line up the fights for Spence.

But anyway, back to the point, Yordenis Ugas might be a good fight for Spence if he can't get any of the top guys to step up or if they aren't available.

 

They say a lot of things about Garcia but who has he actually dodged?!

 

Id like to see Spence either unify against porter/Garcia or Crawford it’s that simple. If not then fight khan as that would be a good profile raiser for him in both the UK and USA.

 

Yeah I doubt Broner wants anything to do with Spence after a green Spence KO'ed his ass in sparring. Also I don't want to see Spence fight Broner, Broner is practically a gate keeper at this point, every time he steps up he loses, proves nothing for me.

Thurman is MIA, probably still injured and Crawford is likely to fight Benavidez according to Arum recently, so we can forget Spence fighting one of the other top guys.

Porter and Garcia are fighting in late August so they are not a possibility. Horn has just been beaten by Crawford.

Hopefully his next opponent is someone decent and better than Ocampo. Spence mentioned Jesse Vargas recently as a possible opponent. Omar Figueroa Jr is another possibility I guess if he isn't still injured after pulling out of the Broner fight.

Pac and Matthysse are fighting next month if Pac wins that maybe Arum will feed the faded Pac to build Spence Jr in a star. It's pretty much what you do, feed the rising young star to the old faded cash cow to build a new star, we saw it when Pac beat Oscar, would be a logical eventual move.

 

But Spence Jr is with Haymon/Showtime so Bob won't give him Pacquaio any time soon, Bob has been planning to feed Pac to Crawford for a while but it seems like the time for that may have passed too.

 

Ah your right, for some reason I thought Spence was promoted by Arum for some reason, lol.

 

I do like the idea of Jessie Vargas. It's not one of the elite WW's, as we all seem well aware of all the dynamics with each of them. But Vargas is definitely in the next crowd of guys. Totally reasonable fight, though not ideal.

 

I think he'll fight someone like Ugas before he gets to the Garcia-Porter winner

 

Unify only option next.

 

Broner isn't in a position to demand anything. When was the last time he won a fight, or held a belt?

 

I think Garcia is more willing than Porter to fight Spence. Plus I don’t think it matters since I believe Garcia will beat Porter.
