Truth is the cruiserweight division is so barren that at this point a person with a 5-0 record can maybe fight for a belt if guided well.
It isn't barren I've just listed about 10 guys who are fresh faces in the upper tiers of the division. Tischenko is actually 6-0 though and he looks to be moving quickly being an olympic gold medallist and all that.
That French card was so much better than the MTK one. Allez les français vous êtes les meilleures animatrices.
Yeah it's slowed down a bit with Usyk and Gassiev both moving up. But once the WBSS final is over and a clear #1 is established I think the new guard at CW give us a thrilling ride. I have a weird feeling that Beterbiev will finish his career there as well.
I think so too, odd that, I envisioned it right after he beat Gvozdyk. Light heavy doesn't seem too difficult a task for him and he's competed at cruiser (or heavy) in the amateurs so I reckon he'll move up there and do bits. I still love the division, even when it's in a transition phase you can get some fantastic fights. It's like the old heavyweight division. Vlasov may return there as well. In fact I reckon a few 175lbers could move up and do well there.
In a sane world he could wrap everything up there within the next 12 months. Im worried about the politics that will be at play now that Clenelo holds a belt there. Would be best to target Bivol first attempt to get a FAIR fight with Clenelo made but if that seems unlikely he'd be wise to just book it. a fight with Briedis/Dorticos winner would be huge.
Oh my sweet lordy when you make me think of it my mouth waters at the prospect. Yes please is my answer. And to further that point... Makabu Beterbiev. Just imagine the war we'd have. It'd be even better than Makabu Kudryashov was and that's my FOTY personally.
